The Truth About “Setting My Own Schedule” in Real Estate
I get this question constantly:
“Ashley, you’re in real estate — you must set your own schedule, right?”
The truth? Yes, and also absolutely not.
As a business owner, mom, and full-time REALTOR®, my schedule belongs to the people who need me most:
• My clients who trust me with their biggest financial decisions
• My kids who need drop-offs, pick-ups, snacks, doctor’s appointments and signed papers
• My team who counts on me for leadership and approvals
A typical day starts around 5 a.m. and ends close to 11 p.m.—with emails, calls, showings, negotiations, school runs, laundry, filming content, listing appointments, and mom-life all woven together. Some days are smooth. Some days are organized chaos. But the beauty is: I get to choose the chaos.
What most people don’t see is that real estate doesn’t run on “free time”… it runs on structure.
The real freedom in this business comes from:
• Time-blocking
• Boundaries
• Discipline
• Planning with intention
When I honor my schedule, I can show up fully for both my clients and my family. And that’s the balance I work hard to protect.
