With severe weather on the horizon for Queensland, it’s a good time for all of us to think about storm preparedness. Whether it’s a cyclone up north or heavy rain and flooding closer to home, having a plan in place can make all the difference.
Key things to check:
✅ Charged torches, phones, and emergency equipment
✅ First aid kits and emergency safety equipment stocked & operational
✅ Essential supplies such as water, canned food, and non-perishables
✅ Emergency escape and rescue plan updated and ready to action
Hazards to be mindful of:
⚠️ Waterborne risks from flood-affected areas
⚠️ Insects and vermin hiding in equipment
⚠️ Mould spores causing health concerns
⚠️ Electrical dangers—especially from makeshift generator setups
We have also been placed on the emergency response list to deploy four of our Level 2 ASP electricians to northern NSW if called upon to restore power and rectify faults.
