Highly recommend Happy Tails ER/vet team! My husband and I can’t even begin to thank Happy Tails team enough for EVERYTHING they have done for our baby boy, Rusty! I rushed him in on Friday morning due to signs of obstruction when urinating & the whole team acted fast with his care, comfort to me and ensured they were super thorough for their record on his information while staying calm themselves! They had him all day and called almost every hour with a full medical update, to say how he was still doing well or even a sweet photo of him. When we picked him up they were so friendly and kind and again thorough with his needs going home and what they provided for him on his time there. For being such a horrible medical issue and Rusty and I being scared, they truly made it better and made my husband and I know he was in the best hands for his care! Thank you team! Thank you! He is already acting more like himself🤍

This is my 6-month-old puppy, Willow. She means the world to me. She was my senior year gift after all my friends moved away. I made her a part of all of my senior experiences. I even got her a matching prom dress for pictures :). She even comes to work with me at my grooming salon and everyone who comes in loves her too. Unfortunately, two weeks ago her spay incision ruptured open causing some of her intestines to come outside of her body. This was an extremely rare emergency that I couldn’t have prevented and was just a risk of a spay. (Her spay was not done here) I rushed her to Happy Tails Emergency Vet, and they took care of my girl right away. She received IV fluids, a catheter to watch for infection, they monitored temperature, and gave her lots of love and some cheese whiz. They went above and beyond by researching which 24-hour overnight facility would be the most cost-effective, sending me photos and updates of her after her surgery, and even bringing me water and a towel to clean Willow's vomit off my clothes. During her laser therapy sessions, they gave Willow lots of love and continued to ask me how I was doing. Each time we go to Happy Tails Willow’s tail starts to wag and she gets very excited. Her incision healed fast with no complications. When she was okay to return to normal activity we did a celebratory spa and groom with some pet-safe purple dye, as well as a toy shopping spree. I’m very grateful for Happy Tails Emergency Pet Service because my girl and I are going to be more than okay!

I've been with Dr. V nearly since she opened. I like having a privately owned Veterinary clinic where the owner is "the Vet". She always been friendly and honest, and will discuss all aspects of our fur kids care. on one occasion through the years, with Schatzi, she consulted on the emergency care and diagnosis with the other clinic, and when the time came to make the hard and best call for our boy, she was kind, compassionate, and honest enough to tell us that we couldn't do anything more for him. She's always been that way with us, with all 7 of our Schnauzers through the years. A Vet that honestly cares more for the patient than her pocketbook is rare. The other vets who have joined her clinic since we started with her are in the same category as I hold her. Truly loving and caring of their patients. I know how difficult it is to keep a private clinic open these days against the "Big Box" care facilities is a daunting challenge, which sadly drives up costs to remain in business when you can't get that "big volume" discount for test kits, meds, etc. Happy Tails is, as far as I know, the last privately owned Vet in the Pasadena area, and while treatment and care may seem expensive (in lieu of the above), the care and treatment of your family members is top notch and personal. I have several items I could share about Dr. Vera where she went way beyond what you would expect. She knows I look for the best price on meds, or supplies. When I had a diabetic dog who needed insulin, she taught me how to the curve studies so I could avoid a visit and cost expense, I just sent her the results and she told me when to change to dose or frequency. When I was getting insulin from a Vet Supplier, she wanted to be sure of my source, so she offered to price match saving me additional cost. When my diabetic crossed over, I had a bunch of insulin which I didn't want to toss out. I mentioned it to her, and she told me she had another patient who could benefit and was on a tight budget. That excess supply, insulin and syringes, went to a family in need. I myself benefitted like that for another medication that one of my other pups needed. If you have a situation of the unbearable loss of a pet, don't toss that medication, talk to Happy Tails, and see if someone else can be helped. In closing, Happy Tails, is one of the few remaining privately owned Veterinary Clinics where they know your pet, you join a family, the care is top notch, and YOU will never be rushed in and out on an assembly line, so don't plan on merely going in and going out; you're going to get a conversation and good exam.

Wonderful experience, a little bit pricey so be prepared. Other than that, no complaints, my parrot was able to recover wonderfully! Definitely taking mango back for his routine checkups!

Amazing, knowledgeable, and caring veterinarians and support staff. I have never been to a veterinary hospital that treats their patients as if they were their own personal pets until I stumbled across Happy Tails when my dog had an emergency and his regular vet refused to see him. Not only did Dr. Vera see him (and I’m fully convinced she is the reason he is still with us) but her and her team also accurately diagnosed and treated other chronic conditions that were ignored or waved off as unimportant by the previous vet. I couldn’t recommend this office more and have made it our full time veterinary office for our pet.

First experience here was sadly to put our cat down. The staff was exceptionally kind, supportive, and comforting. The team is second to none and I only wish I had known about this vet earlier. Will definitely be making this my new vet and coming back here in the future for any and all pet exams and issues. Cannot say enough positive things about the happy tails team.

My dog Doom was brought into Happy Tails for vomiting and lethargy. He was quickly taken back and assessed by Dr. Calpeno. X-rays showed he had an intestinal blockage. From the moment I came in it was all hands on deck to get Doom in better shape. He was then taken into surgery (they have a full surgical suite on site) and the team spent four hours removing the obstruction. Everything happened very quickly but they made me feel comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. I knew he was in good hands. Once he was done with surgery Sam (practice manager) sat with me for several hours trying to find affordable 24hr care. The whole team was pitching in to help get him sent to an affordable but great care facility. I cannot thank them enough for the above and beyond efforts they made for my pup and I. I’ve never felt so cared for. Doom is a very lucky man to have had them, as am I. If you want the best care, I definitely recommend Happy Tails.

Everyone we met at this clinic was so friendly and kind and quickly took in our cat even though we did not have an appointment and had to go during emergency hours. The vet techs stayed late making sure our cat was comfortable and cared for. This clinic was very responsive and maintained excellent communication. Thank you so much for making our pet’s health and safety a priority!

Please read below in the pictures. I think my review was too long to post. I will note that we also brought our dog here and they are extremely expensive. This review however is about my cat, not the dog. I also added a review from someone else from 11 months ago with the cost they were told for the rabies vaccine. When I was there I was told the 1 year vaccine would be 170 and the 3 year would be 200 dollars. I don't think there is really even a difference between 1 yr and 3 yr but I'm not a vet. I will also add that I look very young for my age and I believe they were trying to take advantage of me for that reason. I will also add that i believe she insisted on having the two techs in the room as an excuse for charging such an exorbitant amount. After reading the owners response: For the RECORD. My cat did not attack my face. This is a complete LIE. Also the fact that they made us wait so long and knew that my cat would be anxious shows me that they made us wait on purpose. THEY DID NOT TELL ME ABOUT THE VACCINE CLINIC WHEN I CALLED TO MAKE THIS APPOINTMENT. I have never heard such ridiculous excuses in my life. Furthermore, the reason my cat had sedation at ONE previous vet was because she had dental surgery. No other vet has had to sedate my cat for vaccines or regular check ups. Also, no towel wrap was used by this vet as suggested as a solution or any of these methods that she is mentioning.

I had left my last vet before transferring over to happy tales because I had an emergency visit with this office and was very pleased with the staff. Proceeded to continue to go there. However, during my last visit with Dr. Sebert, My respect for the office was gone. I was there for a wound Follow up/skin check. This doctor came into the room and just started to do a full head to toe exam checking everything and not saying a word to me about what she was doing. She did not communicate things with me. My dog had lived a wonderful, and healthy life for 14 years She was well loved and cared for. However, in the past few months, she had developed a new heart murmur. This doctor proceeded to ask me about the full cardiac workup. My response was my son was getting married and I did not have that in the budget in the next few weeks. This doctor actually said the words “well, I guess we all have our priorities” What the hell? This dog has been nothing but a priority in my life For 14 years. After this visit, I did not want to return. A couple months later, my dog rapidly began to decline With weakness, weight loss, and other neurological symptoms and the last thing I was going to do was subject her to this office and Have to deal with this particular vet again. She was seen and evaluated at the emergency vet on Bestgate Road. Cannot say enough wonderful things about this clinic. Sadly The ultrasound did show multiple lesions and metastatic cancer was likely. Her heart was fine. Unfortunately She declined Even further, and we would not let her suffer…so we had a wonderful experience with an in-house euthanasia veterinarian. She went to sleep peacefully in my bed, surrounded by her family. It is a shame that one vet just completely ruined my whole opinion of this office. But what a horrible human. To lack such compassion And accuse a dog owner of not making their animal a priority. . So that was my last visit there. I hope and pray she never makes another animal owner feel the way she made me feel that day. My sweet Molly. She knows how much she was loved💕💕💕
