This team is unreal. I'll first say it's hard to find people with this métier - but Hank's is the real deal. Husband and wife who specialize in incredible work with attention to detail and a sense of whether it's worth it or not to restore a piece. I took an old settee the seat of which needed some work. Linda, the owner looked at some pictures of the project before she gave me a quote. This was helpful before I committed to the drive from the city. The couple was working on so many cool projects in their workshop. The vibe around someone (in this case a team) who is doing what they have a passion for is really fun, I left wanting to be a cane expert myself! They are realistic about their timeframe, helpful in making decisions and honest with their pricing (and if you are looking for this kind of quality work to be done, you should know that it's an investment in a piece, it's not going to be Ikea pricing.) I love my final piece - it turned out so well and what was fun was that Linda was as excited about the results as I am! I would 100% recommend! When I went to pick up the piece, my mom joined me with two chairs that she wanted to have re-caned.

Lynn and Bob perfectly replaced our 50-year old dining chair cane backs. Their craftsmanship and care for our treasured furniture pieces was outstanding! I highly recommend Hank’s Cane & Rush Restoration.

We were generously given my husband's grandparents dining room table and it had potential but needed some improvements. After doing research, I found caning to be a niche skill and not many people can do it in the Chicagoland area. I spoke on the phone with Lynn numerous times before bringing in the chairs and she eased all my nerves about the process. She did a fantastic job and I'm extremely happy with the result. My only regret is not doing this sooner.

Really a lovely job on an old family rocker. Many a child and grandchild has fallen asleep in it while being rocked. Lynn is charming and does exceptional work. It was a pleasure finding such a great practitioner of a dying art. Highly recommended.

Amazing job bringing our desk chair back to life. The seat was stained to perfectly match the intact, original back of the chair. Efficient and clear communication. Very reasonable pricing especially given the high level of craftsmanship!

Lynn made our chairs look brand new! Her work is amazing; we were floored when we saw them restored to their finest! She was very accommodating, and kept us posted with the progress of the repairs. I would highly recommend her for any of your caning/ restoration needs!

Lynn brought our 95 year old chairs back to life. The same six chairs have been around the table at our family cottage since the original owner put them in place. Decades of dinners had worn the seats thin (and in some cases torn through) and Hanks Cane & Rush restored the seats like new. They are a work of art.

We found this business after I was rocking our grandchild in her great grandma's rocking chair and realized the caning on the chair would not hold much longer. They did an excellent job and the chair looks great. We'll be using them next time we need caning restored!

Very professional service. They really did a wonderful job of recaning a 130 year old rocking chair. This is a business that I will recommend for any one who needs recaning or seat weaving. Check out their website.
