Hank's Cane & Rush Restoration
About
We specialize in the art of seat weaving such as: hand caning, pressed cane, rush, danish cord, splint, shaker tape. Sadly caning and rush seat weaving are fast becoming dying art forms and it is our intent not to let that happen. Each chair we see in the shop comes with a story or has a story yet to come! Our mission at Hank’s is to restore your chair or furniture piece while refreshing the memory that accompanies it! Or possibly it’s a chair with memories still to unfold! Whatever you do, don’t throw that chair out without talking to us first! ~ Lynn

This team is unreal. I'll first say it's hard to find people with this métier - but Hank's is the real deal. Husband and wife who specialize in incredible work with attention to detail and a sense of whether it's worth it or not to restore a piece. I took an old settee the seat of which needed some work. Linda, the owner looked at some pictures of the project before she gave me a quote. This was helpful before I committed to the drive from the city. The couple was working on so many cool projects in their workshop. The vibe around someone (in this case a team) who is doing what they have a passion for is really fun, I left wanting to be a cane expert myself! They are realistic about their timeframe, helpful in making decisions and honest with their pricing (and if you are looking for this kind of quality work to be done, you should know that it's an investment in a piece, it's not going to be Ikea pricing.) I love my final piece - it turned out so well and what was fun was that Linda was as excited about the results as I am! I would 100% recommend! When I went to pick up the piece, my mom joined me with two chairs that she wanted to have re-caned.

Lynn and Bob perfectly replaced our 50-year old dining chair cane backs. Their craftsmanship and care for our treasured furniture pieces was outstanding! I highly recommend Hank’s Cane & Rush Restoration.
