Hana Lodge

Wow, firstly this is the best accomodation I’ve ever been to/had. Hubby booked this for my birthday and I couldn’t be happier. As soon as we arrive Rajiv welcomed us, helped us with our luggage and served us a complimentary drink (plus olives). Rajiv just made our experience so pleasant, he is by far the best person we’ve ever encountered at any hotel/accommodation. He went above and beyond, showed us the place and grounds and said if we ever needed anything to not hesitate to inform him. This is in fact true, when we did have questions or needed something he went above and beyond. The Hana Lodge itself is just stunning, reminds me of a Jane Austen film; it’s actually inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Breakfast was amazing too. Both Grace and Sweta provided amazing service, they too went above and beyond. The only disappointment was dinner, we expected something else for the price point but the service was great, as always! We told Rajiv and he discounted our dinner which we were super grateful for. Service 6/5 and accommodation 5/5. We still have 1 more night left for which we are excited, we will definitely be coming back here during our next travels. Please don’t hesitate to book!! Hana lodge is so beautiful and relaxing. The rooms are impeccable with everything you could desire (and if it isn't there the staff will arrange it). The grounds are gorgeous and well tended. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and helpful. We will definitely be coming back for a relax and unwind. We came back each day around 4 to spend time relaxing at the lodge.

What a stunning property! The grounds are well looked after and the rooms are very well equipped. The staff is very eager to please especially with the breakfast service. Would highly recommend this hotel. Rajiv and Sandeep both were very helpful and hospitable. We will be back.

Best hotel we stayed in in our entire trip in New Zealand. We had some underwhelming stays leading up to here, but Hana Lodge was everything we wanted and more. Food at dinner was also excellent.

Beautiful boutique hotel with lovely garden, nice rooms and very nice staff. Excellent breakfast and dinner. If you visit the Rotorua area this is the place to go!

Beautiful and Good view, nice staff, yummy food. But still not a good experience because of the big noise from upstairs in the early morning. The kitchen is just up above of the room we stayed, and the staff started to walk around and around from 6am, couldn’t go back to sleep once we were woken up by the big and busy noise… maybe it is the only the problem with the room No.1, the room just under the kitchen. The hotel is aimed to offer guests good and nice sleep, isn’t it? By the way, the shower system is outdated. The water volume couldn’t be adjusted. Hope other guests enjoy their stays.

High tea is average here. This high tea for a special occasion was disappointing. Store bought food - the only thing that was probably made in house was the sandwiches - is not an acceptable standard for a venue that purports to be 5 star. The hassle with the payment processing on leaving was not the fault of the establishment but just added to the average experience. Don’t waste your money.

This was one of my favorite places to stay on my trip. The lodge is beautiful, the staff are exceptional, the food is top notch. Wonderful experience!

My wife and I had a lovely time here, staying for four nights. Our first night's accommodation was nice, but tighter than anticipated. Management upgraded us to a larger room for the rest of our stay, which was greatly appreciated and indicitive of their attention to customer service. We enjoyed breakfast every day which was magnificent. The kitchen easily and eagerly accommodated our dietary needs. The hotel is in a nice location, close enough to Rotorua for dining excursions to Eat Street, easy enough to get to hiking and hot springs, but still offers a very private-feeling retreat. The pool, jacuzzi and sauna were nice add-ons for relaxation, as were the tended grounds. The lounge is fine and the bar is basic. Both have room for more attention, but given most guests are likely out and about most of the evening, it is not a critical need. I'd certainly recommend staying here, especially if they continue to hire the high-quality, customer-oriented staff that we gratefully experienced.

Hana lodge is set on stunning grounds, we had a lovely time exploring the surroundings and watching the rabbits run around. The lodge was well maintained and decorated beautifully. It was a treat to spend the being in the spa pool. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. One downside was staying in room 1 was very noisy being right by the front door and below the restaurant. Other than that we could've fault our stay. It was bliss.
