Griswold’s, please adopt me. I came into this as the new girl in town, knowing absolutely NOTHING about cars (if a warning light comes on, I just panic-text someone and hope for the best). I dropped my car off and braced myself… and instead got truly top-tier service from start to finish. I handed them a bizarre, unicorn-level problem they’d never seen before (because of course it would happen to me). And even without meeting them in person, they treated my situation like top priority. They kept me updated the entire time, explained everything clearly, and actually figured out a solution. Who does that anymore?! Sam, the owner, deserves an award for communication. Jacob was awesome behind the scenes. And Nick, who first took my call, instantly made me feel like I was in good hands. If you’re new to the area, nervous about car repairs, or someone whose knowledge of cars ends at “it drives” — GO TO GRISWOLD’S. Honest, patient, talented… and they made this whole thing way less scary. I’m genuinely grateful. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Just one example - we were experiencing a transmission issue with our Subaru Crosstrek and brought it in for assessment. The tech identified the issue and went the extra steps to determine that Subarua had issued a service bulletin and that the dealer would be able to offer an extended 100k mile warranty on the issue. They gave us all the information and codes and encouraged us to to take it in to the Subaru dealer so that we would not be charged for the repair. That's honesty and integrity in living proof. We will keep coming here for service - and refer all our family and friends!

I've been bringing my vehicles to Griswold for nearly two years now, and I genuinely cannot say enough good things about this place. From day one, their honesty, professionalism, and customer-first approach have earned my trust. They’ve worked on two of my older cars and have consistently diagnosed issues clearly and thoroughly. They never push unnecessary repairs, just recommending what’s truly essential. That level of integrity is rare and deeply appreciated. Whether under the previous or current ownership, the team has always been warm, welcoming, and easy to communicate with. It genuinely feels like a neighborhood garage that values relationships, not just transactions. What really stands out is their willingness to help, even when I’ve dropped in without an appointment. For quick fixes, they’ve often gotten me taken care of within five minutes even when their lot was full. That kind of responsiveness is unheard of. On top of that, their prices are very fair, and as a repeat customer, I’ve even received occasional discounts on labor and parts which is just another example of how much they value loyalty. Griswold Auto has earned my highest recommendation. Whether it’s a major repair or a quick check-up, this is the kind of shop you’ll feel good about returning to again and again.

I and many of my family members and friends did business with Greg Griswold for many years and he was ALWAYS kind, honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable and professional. Because of Greg's good name, we went back and bought 4 "high rated" tires and got a tuneup and an oil change. There was no sticker for the oil change, so we went back to see if it was done. We didn't have a good feeling about the place, so have taken our business elsewhere. They noted that the tires were NOT balanced. I hope the tuneup and oil change was done. BUYER BEWARE! I think it's a shame that the name "Griswold" is still on the sign. This is no longer Greg Griswold's establishment.

We had been very long time customers of Greg & wanted to give new owner a fair shake, as they promised to run the shop as honestly as Greg. All was great for basic maintenance on all of our cars until my daughter took her car in repeatedly inquiring about the rotors because of vibration while braking and being told brake pads are fine. About a month ago when she back again inquiring about the vibration, they replaced a ball joint on a tire, after the owner was quite condescending towards her explaining the repair. She had the repair done, but vibration persisted. We took a trip to visit family out of state that same day and they’re mechanically inclined & saw how bad the rotors actually were and replaced them. However when making that repair there was grease all over the wheel from the ball joint repair and more suspension problems ensued. She took the car back & the owner was incredibly condescending again. We took the car to a different local, reputable mechanic and they told my daughter that she should’ve never been sent out of the shop without some much needed axle work being done & the ball joint repair was the least serious problem and her car wasn’t safe to drive. Even the new mechanic felt unsafe in her car! We are disgusted at how she was treated, she’s an adult and knows a few things about cars, Greg would never be condescending to any customer, and the lack of care or concern of customer safety is even worse! Thank goodness she was lucky enough to not get hurt or cause anyone else to get hurt! This clearly was a very serious safety issue that could caused harm or worse! Needless to say, we will never take any of cars there again!!! So disappointed and sad that the new owner is tarnishing the honesty and quality of the Griswold name!

I dropped the car off at 5 a.m. with my keys in their drop box, filled out the envelope, and was done in one minute. They had my car done that morning, too. I could not believe it. That was the best and fastest repair I could have ever imagined. I highly recommend Griswold’s Auto, and this is from a guy who has done his own repairs in the past. Griswold’s Rock!!!!

12/10 experience. The crew at Griswold Automotive were beyond amazing. Had a spontaneous tire incident with my 2017 Mini Cooper and happened to be near their shop. They were honest, extremely helpful and removed a 4” metal Allen wrench from my tire. Love how the snow plows must have churned it up into the street! They plugged it and tested the tire on the spot saving me the cost to fully replace. I’ve never received such great service and they’ve earned my business moving forward. I highly recommend them for any car services you may need. It’s rare to find this exceptional honesty and quick response - let Sam and his awesome team solve any of your car issues or maintenance! Was in and out and able to continue to lunch with my 92yo mom and we celebrated with a cold beer. Pic shows what came out of my tire.

I was a long time customer of Greg. I actually sold Christmas wreaths to him as a kid and my family had been going to him for as long as I can remember. I was nervous when he retired and sold the business but after a few visits I realized I had absolutely no need to be. Sam and his team are incredible. They’re honest, professional, and compassionate. You won’t find a better auto shop.

Originally took my car to another company in Brookfield and they came back with a ridiculous quote and added services/parts I didn’t even need. Took my car to Griswold’s and they fixed it right away for a third of the price. Not many business like them anymore, which is too bad.. Genuine, honest, good people, who aren’t looking to take advantage of anyone. Highly recommend!

Griswold automotive has been consistently outstanding in both their customer service, quick response and price. I have been a long-standing customer and have always had a great experience. The new owner Sam and his staff are extremely knowledgeable and want to make sure the job is done right and the customer is completely satisfied. I would highly recommend Griswold automotive.
