Update: I have changed my review to a 1 star because the technician called me 3 times and texted me saying he was disappointed with my honest review and wants me to remove it. I will not. In my review I said how I was grateful 🙏 to him and stated the 2 issues I had. I felt like Mike was communicating everything during the service but is now saying that him replacing the outside part/cover that was broken was not included in the service.....well that is something he should have communicated then and my landlord would have dealt with it. Either way it was not right for him to throw away parts that he decided not to use, that the landlord paid for. He should have given it to my landlord or me. This technician is being very unprofessional and disrespectful. Why ask for a review if you do not want an honest one? What's sad is that I was excited to do business with this company after checking out their 4.7 star rating and reading the reviews from customers but now I'm left unsure, disappointed and praying that this technician leaves me alone.
To Green Quality Air, I have asked your technician to not contact me anymore or I will take legal action. If this is how your technicians are, then people need to be informed.
Original Review:
Green Quality Air advertised a $79 dryer vent cleaning special on FB. I responded and after brief conversation, I scheduled it. Once the tech, Mike, got here; he said a "deep clean" was needed, and it would cost $275! 🤯 Upon reading other reviews, I do not know how a "deep clean" can either be $200 or $275. What is the difference?
As long as I have lived here, the dryer vent has never been cleaned so I knew it wasn't going to be good, especially since the dryer wasn't really drying anymore, so I can understand the deep cleaning being needed. I am grateful 🙏 that Mike was able to get everything cleaned out and that he noticed that the part outside was broken and completely blocked. I did not like how much of a fire hazard we had!
The only 2 issues I had were:
1. I had to go to Home Depot to buy a new part for the outside and Mike kept asking how long was it going to take me to go buy it and be back. I have not dealt with a company that did not have the part available and add it to the bill. On top of that, Mike did not use everything that came with the part I bought. Instead of telling me he wasn't going to use it all, I saw him throw away the spacer gasket & the sealer gasket! Ummmm that was not the company's money he threw away but my landlord's!! Who does something like that?!?! In not using those parts a slight gap was left and now I have to see if my landlord will be OK with it since my landlord clearly told Mike he did not want any gaps. I went down to get those parts out of the trash.
2. I didn't expect Mike to clean up all the lint, but I did expect him to clean off the lint that fell on my neighbor's AC unit so it wouldn't cause possible issues to the AC. He did not. I had to go down and clean it.
It was definitely a learning experience and taught me new questions to ask of a company in the future.
