YOU CAN REFUSE A BREATH OR BLOOD TEST!
If you are suspected of DUI or DWAI, an officer may request that you provide a voluntary breath or blood sample for testing. The results of the breath or blood test will be used against you at trial. You can refuse this request. Refusal, however, carries with it significant consequences, such as:
• Your license may be suspended.
• You may still face a DUI/DWAI charge based on other criteria, such as field
sobriety test results, witness testimony, and the police officer's observations.
• You may be fined.
