I never thought I could be moved to tears by shells..! This family-run museum was born out of a passion for diving, sea exploration, and shell conservation. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves and one of the curators talked us through the exhibition, pointing out exhibits of interest, including shells that were over 165 million years old. I was particularly moved by the small exhibit of molluscs that are already extinct or nearing extinction. A lovely and informative museum to visit.

Loved this museum on my visit yesterday - the woman was really passionate and her energy rubbed off on me. The museum is beautiful, small but so interesting and clean and well presented. There’s a quiz for kids, but I did it and got a free shell!

Arrived just before closing. I was received by a very pleasant young man who turned out to be part of this beautiful family run museum. I love the sea and shells. If you like shells and nature and appreciate others who do you won't be dissappointed. (AC would be a nice addition but apparently not allowed to make changes to the historic building this museum sits in. Ended the experience with a cold drink at the sea side Poseidon Restaurant. Highly recommended !!!

Charming, family-run and with great care and sensitivity. We arrive under 30 minutes before closing and still felt the energy of this unique place. The owner is really thoughtful and deeply knowledgeable. I came away with a new piques interest in seashells beyond the “touristy” collectibles we think of and admire. We meant and are forced to think about how old our previous planet is, our deep connection to the oceans and the marine life and our irrefutable responsibility and role to preserve it. Highly recommend and a wonderful surprise!

We‘ve been here today and it was one of my best museum experience ever. I‘ve been to a lot of museums before, but not one was as as personal as this one. You get a personal introduction of the exhibition from the owner and she was very kind and enthusiastic, but she also knew when it was time to give us space to discover everything by ourselves. Also there was a memory game for shells which was fun too. Its a beautiful exhibition and I recommend it to everyone who wants to visit cavtat!

Lovely museum, small but full of beautiful shells and the lady who runs it is so friendly and helpful. They have a stunning collection and a nicely done video presentation to give you some information, the owner can answer any questions you might have and is very knowledgeable. There are options to have a private tour, an audio tour, and a special kids' tour that includes age-appropriate information and a gift. We loved it. Entry is €7 and it's a very pleasant way to spend an hour in beautiful Cavtat.

Just happened to stumble across this place when in the area with my partner. Was absolutely amazed, super interesting & well worth the visit. The lady who owns/works at the museum Ines has incredible knowledge on every shell and piece of art exhibited and is more than happy to share any information she can give you. Couldn't have asked for a better guide!

A must do in Cavtat for sure. Over 3000 shells and so much to learn! The museum is run by a kind family who has been collecting these shells over 20 years. The dedication, love and energy put into this venture is nothing short of surreal. The variety, knowledge and kindness of the owners is heartwarming. If you have a few bucks to spare, do explore their handmade jewellery section

Lovely place with lots of beautiful shells of different kinds. The experience was really worth 8€. I highly recommend it, especially to families with kids, because there is a fun minigame to play (even if you're an adult), but i won't spoil anything to ruin the fun. :D
