Glacier Travel Iceland

We went up on a windy chilly day on the 28th of November! Our guide was amazing and the experience felt like a real adventure even with the wind! We saw 2 caves and it truly was an unforgettable moment going up there!

Such an incredible experience! While looking for glacier hikes to go on, the 3-4 hour one wasn’t available, but the longer hike was. I was a bit hesitant on this decision, but more than happy with it. The time allowed us to explore two ice caves and have a full experience hiking the glacier. Our tour guide Vigfus was amazing, he kept us entertained with a traditional Icelandic song, taught us some cool facts and history, and was overall so helpful. I felt completely safe and well taken care of and highly recommend this tour! I would advise to bring a snack on the hike as we had a resting period to eat before the second cave, other than that everything was perfect!

We had the best time with Vigfus on the Extreme Blue Ice Cave Tour which is a roughly 5 hour tour combining a glacier hike and visiting 2 ice caves. Our favourite experience from our Iceland trip! It was very educational and we learnt a lot about the glaciers - how they are receding every year, about the ice caves and how quickly they can change with the weather. It was great! All the required safety equipment is provided.

What to say? What a wonderful experience!, one of the most wonderfull trip i ever had in my life! I never saw anything like this before! If you are looking for perfect blue Ice Cave experience guided by local Icelander, I highly recommend choosing this one. An amazing 6/7 hour tour out of this world with an excellent guide Vigfus, takes wonderful photos and sends them in high quality. You should definitely sign up for the experience in person, great value and worth every penny. It is better to support local businesses. The ice cave tour we did with Vitfus was one of the highlights of our Iceland trip. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the glaciers, as well and funny and entertaining with great energy. He timed our tour to avoid all the other tour groups so we got a very personalized and calm experience of the cave without any crowds. We felt very grateful to have chosen this tour specifically because of this. Vitfus was very willing to help take photos and answer any questions we had. I would absolutely recommend this cave tour to anyone I know visiting south Iceland.

We had a great time with Vigfús! We were lucky to be the only ones with him that day on the tour. He told us interesting and funny facts about the glacier, the ice caves, icelands history and its culture! The extreme Tour is totally recommendable 🚀😊

We did the Blue Extreme tour (cave+glacier hike) with Vigfus and it was such a great experience. It was 3 of us in the group and he took us to the cave when there were not many other groups so we had the cave to ourselves. He allowed us as much time as we needed to take many pictures and he even took so many great pictures of us. It felt like a very personal experience to have the tour to ourselves with a knowledgeable and fun local guide. During the glacier hike we were also the only group in the glacier. This was the best tour I’ve ever been on.

Loved our tour today! We did the extreme ice cave tour and it was extremely beautiful and filled with information about the glacier and lots of time to enjoy the views and take pictures ( we were never hurried and had an easy walking speed so some could occasionally stop, take pictures and get back with the group), we were only 6 (including 2 guides) and it took us around 4-5 hours overall. Time went by in a bliss. We‘re really happy we did not only book a cave tour but also hiked on top of a glacier, probably once in a lifetime :) if you‘re in average shape you can easily do it!

Loved the experience, love the guide of Vigfus! Such an amazing tour, amazing views and the guide made it all better! It was almost a private tour to enjoy nature. He also shared with us typical food (shark bites) which was awesome. Thank you so much!!

We were really looking forward to do this activity as it is typical of Iceland. The inside of the cave is spectacular and the colours are amazing. We were there before the other companies which was nice to take pictures. Though there are some things I regret. - The guide wasn’t waiting for us when walking or climbing the glacier. I struggled with climbing and going down the glacier, but he didn’t help me. A woman from another company did and I thank her so so much for that. - We only visited one part of the cave. The guide told us to « take our time » and we understood why later : because there wasn’t anything else to visit. We thought when booking that we would explore much more and see more of this cave and glacier. That was quite disappointing. I don’t think I would recommend going there to explore ice caves.
