Gill's Towing

Michael showed up and before towing my car, he asked what was wrong, he looked at it and showed me that it was a very simple fix and got my car to start, and as it so turned out I didn’t even need a tow. He was very professional, kind and honest with me. Great customer service from this company, Natalie, the lady who was on the phone, was also the nicest person ever, I am very grateful for all of this, I would 100% recommend this service to everyone.

I got into an accident this morning and was told from my insurance GEICO, this was the towing company to use. I was then told my estimated time for the tow truck to make it to my car would be 1:42 pm. After asking to make sure I could leave my car unattended (it was at a Buc-ee’s in Texas city where the accident happened) I went to get my rental. 2:45 comes around and I call to check on the arrival of my vehicle at the collision center, just for them to tell me they have yet to receive it. After numerous attempts to call the towing company, who is impossible to get ahold of btw I gave it a little bit of time. 4:00 pm shows up and the collision center still does not have my car. I call Gills and finally get ahold of them which seems to have been the owner. She was so rude, told me the driver had a delay which was fine, however I would’ve like to have been notified of that. Then as I am trying to speak she continuously interrupts me and says I am being “inappropriate”. I couldn’t even get a sentence out because she continued to speak over me. Then was going to hang up on me just because I was a complaining customer and she didn’t want to hear it. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. So unprofessional and the lack of communication is unbelievable.

We had to call for roadside service with our insurance company yesterday. How lucky were we that Gill’s Towing was dispatched to help us. Joe was so kind and extremely knowledgeable of our situation. We will be forever grateful to him. Gill’s Towing is now in our contacts, and our choice for referring to friends in need.

The dispatcher here is genuinely incompetent. I called her asking for an eta at 8 pm, she said 30 mins. I kindly emphasized numerous times that it was ok if the eta was 1-2 hrs I just needed to know to make some moves. At 8:30 pm I call back and she said it’s going to be another 30 mins. We did this two more times until 10 pm. I was stuck in an unfavorable area of town that I broke down in and was given false etas/the run around by this extremely inept dispatcher. I understand problems arise and logistics isn’t easy, all I ask for is transparency and honesty. I hope this company trains their dispatchers better so they don’t continue these dishonest ignorant practices.

Called GEICO for a tow at 10:07 am. They dispatched A-1 Gills towing to arrive by 11:10am. I then called Gills to let them know my vehicle was a 1 ton 4 door long box diesel truck and they would need a roll back to haul it. 11:30 rolls around and no tow truck. I called Gill's and asked for an ETA on the driver and Gill's informed me they had to dispatch another truck because they didn't know it was a 1 ton truck. I told her that was the reason I called them directly. Told her on the phone in the original conversation. I canceled the tow and will NEVER do business with them. Clearly no one is listening when you call with important information about your vehicle. Useless..........

Not sure if their business tactic is to get people to crash so they can tow them BUT their driver ran a stop sign and pulled out in front of me on 290 and cause my dog to slam into the windshield and me to swerve into oncoming traffic!!!!! Don’t think anyone should have their personal vehicle on the back of a truck like this, it won’t be safe!!!!

5/9/2020 So once again A-1 Gils Towing & Nickolas came through again for us, we called and requested him to move the CNC table again. He remembered us and the table too, and thanked me for the Google review I left for him last time. If I need a tow truck I hope it’s where in an area serviced by A-1 Gils Towing & Nickolas they are very attention to detail and have good people skills too. 4/10/2019 I have a 5’x10’ CNC Plasma cuttting table that needed to be moved, my driver was Nicholas he was very professional & courteous and took very good care of my equipment while in care of it. When I need a tow truck in the future they will be the first on the list to call. James R. Galveston County

Gil’s Towing is the ONLY towing company I will use from now on. Their dispatch person is so kind and helpful and true to her word. Both drivers that have helped me, Miguel and John, were both friendly, prompt and provided excellent service. They made my day brighter even though I’ve had recent 2 flat tires. Thank you to everyone at Gil’s for your kindness and assistance. You are all much appreciated!

Joe was the nicest tow truck driver I have ever met. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I was pretty irritated because my 1-year-old vehicle broke down in the middle of an intersection with my kid in the car. The whole situation was very stressful, but the tow truck driver (Joe) was as cool as a cucumber. He did an excellent job and was very professional. Somebody give this guy a raise. Would definitely recommend.
