Hi, I'm Dereck with Gillett Fitness. As your personal trainer I will hold you to a high standard. We will be training with intent, looking for serious progress. I will create you a personalized workout program, and give you high level coaching. Together we will reach your goals. My training is for all skill levels, ages, and goals. I have had success with both fat loss, and muscle gain clients. Seen phenomal progress with a 74 year old man, and coached a 16 year old to his first D1 scholarship. Whatever your goal is, I will work my hardest to get you there.

I trained with Derek for about a year, and the transformation has been remarkable. When I started, I was extremely weak overall — my knees, shoulders, core, and lower back all lacked strength and stability. Even basic movements felt challenging, and I was concerned about injuries. Derek designed a fully personalized training plan tailored to my limitations and long-term goals. He focused first on building joint stability and foundational strength before progressively increasing intensity. That structured approach made a huge difference. One of the most valuable things I learned from Derek was proper form. He is meticulous about technique, posture, and movement mechanics. That attention to detail not only helped me gain strength safely but also gave me confidence in the gym. Over the year, I became significantly stronger, improved my mobility, reduced joint discomfort, and achieved meaningful weight loss. Great guy, he understands everybody’s individual needs on a day to day basis. Changing workouts based on soreness, and what else you have going on. I highly recommend training with him for athletic purposes.
