Gillespie Flight Center

This is the newer flight school. Gillespie Flight Center is a great place to learn how to fly. The instructors are really knowledgeable and actually care about helping you become a safe, confident pilot—not just pass a test. The school also uses newer tech like videos and PowerPoint lessons, which makes learning easier and more clear. The planes are well taken care of, and everything is organized, so training runs smoothly. Everyone there is friendly and professional, and you can tell they take what they do seriously. I’d definitely recommend Gillespie Flight Center to anyone thinking about flying.

Beautiful new space with aircraft whose maintenance you can trust. The owners are coming in with the intention of building community in El Cajon and they are off to an incredible start!

Went on a sight seeing trip around east county for my friend and neighbor’s birthday. Christian Piona took us around Harrison Canyon, El Capitan Reservoir and 3 Sisters Waterfall in a Cessna 172E and my friend got to take the controls for a while too. Super fun intro flight and Christian was a great pilot and guide. I’ll be back soon and maybe take some lessons.
