Gwen and her team did a FANTASTIC job in our yard. We wanted to re-do major sections and she did an excellent job of melding the new with the old. We are getting a lot of joy from our new yard! Gwen was great about listening to what we do and do not like and communicating throughout the project. We not only needed to re-do sections of sod and plantings, but we also had a drainage problem they fixed and added a better pathway to the backyard. All the irrigation and new lighting is great! Her team was also solid with communication and cleaned up at the end of each day. It's a small but mighty group..... be patient and get on her schedule..... it's well worth it! Then get on her schedule for seasonal maintenance. Just a high performing, outstanding team! Thanks team!

Gwen was a delight to work with. We needed a complete re-do of our backyard and a clean-up/update of our front yard (we have an acre lot). She is such a visionary – we loved the design, using low-maintenance, drought-tolerant plants. We loved how she had her own crew for installation - she was there every day with them, making sure that things were done just right, and the crew cleaned up at the end of each day. We have a 27-year old house, and there were some surprises (mostly irrigation issues), and she took care of it all. She managed the large job well and communicated daily on any updates/changes to the project. We even added some things (pots, fountain) that she helped design and install. She took care of everything – even a few dump runs for us! In addition, she offers seasonal maintenance services to keep the yard looking great, which we will definitely be signing up for. Our yard is stunning – I can hardly wait for the plants and trees to grow.

This is a long overdue review of the marvelous and creative front yard renovation that Gwen Green and her Garden Artistry team did a few months ago. We had a circa 1990s front lawn framed by hedges, on a downslope, which used too much water in our arid climate. No matter how careful we tried to be about our timing our sprinklers, water would inevitably drain down the slope to the street, and it was time to do something about it. After listing a few “wants” (lower water, color, kangaroo paws, please make the walkway not a direct path to the door), we basically gave Gwen free reign to do what she wanted, and she came up with a remarkable, organic design that worked within the confines of a typical Davis yard. She is exceptionally knowledgeable about plants, and she also has an artistic eye. The great thing about Gwen is that she’s got a great combination of qualities: she’s artistic and creative, but she is also organized, punctual, listens, and is responsive. I think if you are going to hire Gwen and her team, you should take advantage of her greatest strength, which is her plant knowledge and creativity. Give her the freedom to pick spiky plants, plants with texture, whatever she finds at the nursery when she goes shopping for your project. Many won’t be typical plants you see at Home Depot. Her partner, Aerin, is very meticulous and designed a creative, very well built walkway. To this day, even after a few months, we STILL get compliments on the yard every time we are outside. We LOVE our yard and it brings us joy. A few comments: she has a small team, and there is a long wait for her, but we wanted the same person to design and install, so we were willing to wait for her. Her design prices are reasonable and the work is very good. Their tag line is “Do It Right the First Time.” She has a good team. And, almost as important, please take care of the work after they install. The first year you do need to pay attention – if anything looks not quite right (over/under water), either adjust your irrigation settings or tell her right away, she’ll come check it out. She’s very helpful in informing clients about how to care for things! Gwen and her team take pride (deservedly so) in their work, and love seeing things grow and be taken care of well. You can also hire her team to do maintenance on their installation in the future.

We had a word of mouth referral to Gwen’s landscaping small business. We tore out our lawn, added California natives, and added a second pergola. She takes pride in her crew and outcomes. There were no unexpected costs and it was the fastest project we had ever done as she sticks to one job until it is completed.

I had a wonderful experience working with Garden Artistry. Gwen was incredibly responsive—she quickly scheduled a consultation, understood our needs, provided a thoughtful design, and was quick to provide a design and quote. Once the project began, the crew worked efficiently and showed great professionalism throughout. the crew was very respectful of the cemetery environment the project was taking place in kept the area very clean throughout the process. The end results far exceeded my expectations. It’s clear that Garden Artistry takes pride in both their craftsmanship and their customer service. Fantastic work by Gwen and her team at Garden Artistry. Our yard is fantastic, and Gwen is a great communicator, easy to work with, and her team offers wonderful support after the landscaping is done. My wife and I are so happy with our new yard, we've been spending so much time outside relaxing and eating as many meals as possible out there!

My wife and I couldn't be happier with Gwen, Aaron, Julie and Brandon and the rest of the team! We had a fairly big mess of an irrigation system and a big landscaping idea. We love the mountains and have a ton of redwoods. We used to have nasty ivy everywhere. Aaron replaced the irrigation to make sure that our trees were happy. Gwen dreamed up the perfect front landscaping and we are thrilled. It is perfect and feels like we are in the mountains! Gwen and the Garden Artistry team did an amazing job on our backyard. It went from boring to making me happy every time I look out the window. We bought the design plan first and then also got in line for them to do the work. Gwen is so easy to work with and the team is professional, quick and the quality is outstanding. They even shored up our fence and came in a bit under budget. And her dad built us a pergola. Highly recommend!
