Closest point in French Island to Corinella. The barge operates at hight tide only, it costs about $150 for a return trip, but you must book, as it can normally only take two normal size vehicles. Short trip. Or, you can kayak across like we did, for free, but you must be careful of the currents. We saw a large Australian fur seal as we approach the island. There are no public toilets or potable water at the jetty.

Best place to access French Island, from Corinella- really friendly and super quick trip. Would highly recommend - great to be able to take your vehicle across and get to all the beautiful spots on the island. We will definitely use this service again - easy to book and pay.. and it's a super quick trip across with amazing views. Thanks team - great experience! See you again!

Easy and convenient Barge Access to French Island. Communication and customer service on and off the barge is thorough. Workers are happy to help you get on and off if you’re not familiar with the barge or how to book and they will give advice on best way to get around the island. Would definitely recommend!

We happened to be walking along the beach and stumbled across the French Island Barge. We asked about and got offered a day trip across. What an amazing experience that was. We truly enjoyed the day and our experiences from all the friendly and genuine people we encountered. Starting onboard the barge with the crew to the excellent service and food at the general store where we hired bikes for a short ride to the jetty. We were breath-taken by the stunning views on our different walks and taken aback by the genuine friendliness at the Bayview Chicory Kiln farm. Here we saw koalas, collected eggs, patted sheep and heard about the history of the farm, truely amazing. We got so caught up we didn't get to see the old prison. We will have to come back to this unspoiled heaven of tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the main land. Let it stay unspoiled like that.

An essential service to the island. Tide dependant so doesn't have the reliability and frequency we would all like.
