Frayed Up Fishing Charters

Prior to coming to Anna Marie Island I made a post on social media looking for the best captain in the area and I received several responses to book with Frayed Up fishing charters. Jake surely lived up to his charter name "Frayed Up" we had a party of 4 adults and one 5 year old and had multiple times that we were all hooked up with fish and fraying that line with big bull reds and trophy size snook!!! Jake is a excellent captain having fresh baits and was very patient with my son and the other inexperienced anglers on the boat. He made sure we had the full experience of the fishery and didn't waste our time with sight seeing. It was a constant catching session! I will definitely be booking with Jake again in the future and cannot recommend him enough for an excellent CATCHING trip!!

My family and I recently booked Captain Jake on an in shore fishing trip during Thanksgiving week. We caught lots of snook and trout but unfortunately didn’t get any keepers so we had to buy dinner that night 🤣. We had such a great time that we booked Captain Jake for a near shore trip a couple days later and he did not disappoint. We caught snapper, grouper, hogfish, grunts, and various other fish. Plenty for dinner and even some to bring home! This was my daughter’s first real fishing experience and she had a blast. Captain Jake was very attentive and made sure she had a great experience. I would absolutely recommend Captain Jake for your next fishing trip in the Anna Maria Island area!

We had an excellent trip with Captain Jake. He did a great job of putting us on the fish and we caught exactly what he said we would. We had opportunities to catch a variety of fish and a lot of fish. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend Frayed Up Fishing.

Highly recommend Captain Jake! He knew exactly where to go and all 6 of us started catching fish as soon as we dropped our lines. Grouper, Hogfish, Porgy, Snapper, and more. We caught so many we lost count! He filleted them for us at the dock and we made delicious fish tacos that night. Captain Jake is extremely knowledgeable, patient and an overall great guide. My Wife and I were on our Anniversary vacation this past week and we got hooked up with Captain Jake! He put us right on the fish within the first few minutes on our excursion. We caught several types of fish and couldn’t have asked for a most informative, patient, kind, and knowledgeable individual like Jake. He is everything you would ask for in a Captain and Guide. You can’t go wrong in trusting Jake with your fishing trip. Keep in mind, it’s called fishing and there is only so much Jake can control. He can’t make them bite, but he WILL put you on the fish! Had an amazing time fishing with Jake! He’s a top-notch guide who really knows the waters and put us right on the fish. We caught snook and red fish—plus a huge grouper and a Jack Crevalle. Can’t wait to book another trip—highly recommend!!

Capt. Jake far exceeded our expectations for our 4 hour, inshore fishing charter. We caught some bluefish, lady fish, snook, and some spotted trout. We brought home enough trout for the whole family’s dinner. Bought this trip for our dad for an early Father’s Day gift but we’re definitely going to turn this into a yearly tradition.
