If there were awards for patience, Jon would have a trophy cabinet full. As a very nervous driver heading into my 4th driving test (yes my own doing!) Jon never lost faith, never lost his calm and somehow kept me sane. His support and reassurance made even my most panicky lessons manageable. Jon is a fantastic Driving Instructor. His manual driving lessons at Formula Jon Driving School completely transformed my confidence. Against all odds (and nerves!) I passed and I genuinely couldn’t have done it without him. If you’re nervous or need an instructor with the patience of a saint, Jon is your person.

I had a great experience here. The instructor, Ravi, strikes a rare balance between professionalism and approachability. They are very structured in how they teach — every session has a clear objective, feedback is specific, and standards are taken seriously. If something isn’t done correctly, they won’t let it slide, which actually builds confidence because you know you’re learning the right way. At the same time, the atmosphere never feels intimidating. They know when to ease the pressure, keep things fun, and make the learning enjoyable. You can tell they genuinely care about progress rather than just finishing a session. Overall, it’s disciplined training delivered in an engaging way — strict where it matters, relaxed where it helps. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to improve properly while still enjoying the process.

I honestly cannot thank Ravi at formula Jon’s Driving School enough for everything he’s done for me. I passed my driving test first time and it truly wouldn’t have been possible without him. From the very start Ravi was so patient, kind and supportive. Learning to drive can be really overwhelming, but he always made me feel calm, safe and believed in me even when I doubted myself. He explains everything so clearly and in such a simple way that you really understand what you’re doing and why. I was extremely nervous on the day of my test, but Ravi went above and beyond to help calm my nerves. And let me have my bacon sandwich before my test to help me stay calm ha! He was so supportive and helped me stay positive. What amazes me the most is how much he managed to teach me in such a short space of time. Every lesson counted and he made sure I was fully prepared and confident. Ravi works for John’s Driving School and I couldn’t recommend him enough. If anyone is looking for a driving instructor who genuinely cares about his students, is calm, patient and will support you every step of the way, Ravi is the one. I really enjoyed lessons they really care about teaching you properly, and every session has a main objective instead of rushing to get the lesson over with like other driving schools. I highly highly highly recommend!! I also booked through Jon and it was such a fast and easy process, I was able to start lessons almost immediately! I started learning with FormulaJon in August 2025, and today (February 2026) I have passed my driving test first time with 1 minor. The driving school is great, I was immediately contacted when I submitted an initial enquiry about finding an instructor - Jon was friendly and helpful. Ravi was my driving instructor, he is really passionate about his students, truly wants the best for them and to help them in any way he can. I loved learning with Ravi! I'm going to miss our regular chats touring around the roads of Wallington/Purley/Croydon. Would highly recommend this driving school to anyone looking to start learning to drive.

Would highly recommend. I recently had some refresher driving lessons with John as I’d not driven in a very long time and wanted to build my confidence up again. John was very patient and supportive, and gave me lots of tips to help build my confidence again. After a block of lessons with John I am feeling much more confident in my driving (and parking!).
