I flew 46 hours with Flying Academy in Portugal and Prague: terrible organisation and communication. Save your nerves, do not get involved with them. At first, they communicate really well. But when they understand that you are moving forward with them, they start replying very slowly to most emails/WhatsApp messages, or do not reply at all. FA (Flying Academy) ignored a few dozen of my messages during the course of 2 months. The instructors themselves are nice. Here are a small fraction of the issues I had with FA: 1. It took me twice as long as I expected to complete 45 hours of flying, though Flying Academy confirmed my expectations 2 times before the start of the course. Many students face the same problem. FA will tell you anything, so you choose them, and then they won't care about you at all. 2. It took FA 6 days to send the bank details. 3. FA told me: "We will gladly assist you with all necessary arrangements, including finding a medical class in Portugal". They didn't. 4. FA requires taking a Radio Telecommunication exam with them, which EASA does not require for PPL. The exam lasts 30 minutes, is conducted by 1 examiner, but costs $300. Crazy overpriced. Now that I've received the plastic Czech RT licence, I have an idea of what's going on: it might be the Czech CAA requirement, but I'm still not sure. The FA doesn’t care to explain anything. 5. When I understood that I wouldn't complete flying in Portugal before the theoretical exam in Prague, I asked FA whether I could finish flying in Prague. I said that I have mostly solo hours left. They said "no problem". The day I came to the Prague office, they told me I would need about 7 more dual hours before they might release me for a solo, though I had already logged 3 solo hours in Portugal. Later, they also said they would perform a check flight before allowing me to fly solo. They could have told me all of that way earlier. 6. They didn't provide enough information about the check flight and even gave misleading information, which led me not to perform well enough. 7. They wouldn't let me retake the flight check without an additional lesson, even though it was apparent I could pass it. They couldn't justify their decision. They just wanted me to pay more. 8. FA claimed that I cannot retake the theoretical exam sooner than within 10 working days of the previous attempt. It wasn't true. So good that I've contacted Austro Control myself. When I told FA there's no 10-day rule, they said they didn't know about it. I don't know whether to believe it. I left FA with about 10 hours left before the checkride. But I didn't have any faith that it would go smoothly. FA doesn't want you ever to see the whole picture, so you constantly think you're almost done, only for them to "surprise" you. Don't let them ruin your dream.

Studying at Flying Academy Prague has truly been one of the best experiences of my life. This is not just a school – it’s a place where dreams of becoming a pilot come true. The instructors are highly professional, supportive, and always ready to help you improve both your flying skills and your confidence. What makes this academy truly special is the people. The staff and instructors became like a second family to me. They genuinely care about every student’s progress and success, and they create a friendly and motivating atmosphere where you feel at home from the very first day. Without a doubt, Flying Academy Prague is the best flight school in the world. If you’re passionate about aviation and want to become a skilled, confident pilot, this is the place to be.

Complete disregard to safety and maintenance. The aircraft are kept right at the threshold to technically be legal to fly, but are far from safe. Every aircraft in the fleet has at least one instrument labeled inoperative, Most commonly fuel gauges, which are quite vital to safety in long distance flying. Multiple instances from my colleagues where doors have opened mid flight, Flaps have been locked in the retracted setting, countless engine roughness stories, and misfires, which will ultimately be disregarded when reported for maintenance. If you take a deeper look into their history, Flying Academy has far more accidents and incidents than any other training organization in the Czech Republic. The instructors are good people, however, overworked and underpaid often flying fatigued, and have very little motivation to teach. Their ground training resources are outdated and not up to standard with current regulations which change quite frequently. Their live training classes consist of a half asleep, instructor getting through the syllabus as fast as possible, so he can be done with his shift. We were drawn to the school due to the low training costs compared to our home country, However, with hidden fees and aggressive sales tactics, you will end up paying more money for less quality training compared to Canadian flying schools or neighboring countries. Through speaking with some instructors from other schools, I was quick to learn that Flying Academy is known amongst other schools in Czech Republic to be the worst in the country, With student performance directly reflecting that. In the LKLT airspace, If an aircraft, for example, flies the wrong way on the pattern, Cuts you off on final approach leg, Or improperly communicates to ATC 99% of the time It is a Flying Academy aircraft. Most of their students come from third world countries, Which are treated, especially bad by the Front desk and administration. One of my colleagues who also shared his review, was threatened with Visa, cancellation and threats of reports to the police upon asking for a refund of his money from his account although holding no student visa which revealed their exploitation. The sales representatives are very nice until you sign the contract, after that point you will be pressured to fly endlessly as they get a commission from your sales. Truly a disgrace of a training organization I would recommend any school in the Czech Republic except for Flying Academy. I urge you to read reviews, not only on Google, but on Reddit and other flight forums as most of the positive reviews on Google are from staff or friends of staff.

I moved to Prague after they promised a simple license conversion “with no exams needed.” The moment I arrived, that promise vanished — I was forced with visa threats to buy their full ATPL course and sit all exams. Once you sign, the friendly sales team turns cold and you’re treated like a number. Communication breaks down, promises disappear, and even refunds or documents become a fight. If you’re a non-EU student, beware — they use visa and police threats to pressure you into flying or paying more, or keeping you from withdrawing from your account. It’s manipulative and unethical from a business owners perspective. The school clearly focuses on money, not quality. Their aircraft fleet is falling apart, And is the only fleet from any flight school in LKLT which is not kept under a hanger and exposed to the harsh elements. Take a look carefully at their reviews. It’s telling when a school spends more on marketing and scripted social media than on clear student support. I noticed multiple glowing reviews that, at minimum, come from accounts connected to staff or close associates. Whether that’s astroturfing, friends-of-the-owner reviews, or just an attempt to bury real complaints, it’s a red flag. Real schools stand on outcomes and transparent student feedback — not aggressive PR and extensive marketing. I'm sure this review will have some sort of defensive reply from the owner, which shows the academy's true colors in better light. If any one considering Flying Academy would like to know more information on my story, please contact me via my email. I am happy to share all communication I had with them that led me to this review. If you value your time, money, and aviation career — stay far away from Flying Academy. There are plenty of good schools in Prague, which will train real pilots, and not push you through a sales pipeline.

Flight Academy Prague made my FAA to EASA conversion a seamless experience. I flew in from the U.S. and had everything—medical, English test, theory exams, flight checks, and the skill test—completed in under a week. The organization was flawless, the instructors professional and friendly, and the front desk extremely helpful. A special thanks to Anna, who made the process smooth from start to finish. Highly recommended!

STAY AWAY! Don’t even consider! I did made a PPL training at this flying school in Prague. Their airplanes are old and worn out. There had been various technical problems occurred during flight, which possibly could have been prevented with better maintenance or newer airplanes. One of it was a critical flaps elevator stuck down event during go around. The aircraft not gained enough speed. A highly critical situation occurred. The statement I received later, was indicating non clear responsibilities for maintenance security and safety. They have outsourced their maintenance and only have own handling. Their airplanes inside and outside had been in dirty condition. In aviation this combination is a NO GO. Besides this, I had a medical from another country. Flying Academy not saw it necessary to inform me about the need to convert this medical to Czech Republic. The regular time such a conversion takes is 2 months. After final check ride, the problem came up. Licence issuing got delayed for unnecessary three months in total. I would have expected that Flying Aademy would have informed me about this during start of the training. Which would have prevented the situation. Furthermore Flying academy in the overall process was not helpful, but even blamed ,a as the paying client and the student, as in the responsibility to take care myself with all necessary authorities. And pointed away responsibility, same as with the stuck flaps elevator event. At the end I had to manage all with authorities myself, with high costs occuring. You typically hire professionals to get things done and not cause problems. The management of this school has a clear lack of experience and at the end is neglecting problems. A terrible and in aviation dangerous combination. Their flying teachers are mostly good guys, but underpaid, as most of them in personal conversations confirmed. In total a complete avoidable experience. Please be aware also about possible fake purchases reviews on flying academy google profile. If you really do a flight training your typical final comment is not one or two sentence or of general type. Please be also aware that they frequently get their bad reviews removed, as I already experienced.Although my experience is real and I was one of their students, which I can proof with my contracts I do had with them. Update as of November 2025: If you are a student from another country and get your Visa arranged via Flying Academy, please be careful on what and how you do it. I know from cases where Flying-academy caused problems, if you wanted to leave them and finish your training with another Flying School.

When I started looking for a flight school in Czechia, Flying Academy was one of the first ones I found and it immediately got my attention. First of all, online, the way the details were presented, and the amount of detail itself, about the courses, costs and any other useful information (especially for foreign students) was eye catching. It was the first sign of it being a good choice to go to. I had also seen a referral to the school in an article on Aviation Voice, ranking the school amongst the best in Europe! Secondly, the staff is amazing. Back then I wrote to the school and started communications with Mgr. Anna Giverts. She guided me from the very beginning giving me further detailed information regarding external things such as medical examinations, step-by-step information of the enrolment and what follows after and so on. If your consultant is not available at the time being, another consultant will jump in to try to help you, as I had experienced personally recently with Mr. Radek Lamac! Whom I thank so much. Of course, after starting the course Anna was more than glad to help on any other things which needed further clarification or guidance. This same helpful and friendly attitude is reflected in all other staff members, especially instructors! Another major factor which made me choose the school was the location. It has two perfect locations in the heart of Europe (Prague and Brno), enabling oneself to fly to various aerodromes and even internationally at easy, to boost the aviation experience. I chose the Brno base, and I did not regret it. The base moved from Brno Turany to a private airfield in Brezi, close to Brno, and to an extent it is better as it saves a lot of money from handling fees and landing/comm fees. Since there is the Prague base, it is also possible to schedule a flight lesson there if wanted, giving you a bit of a different flying experience in a more busy area(one can switch between bases for ground lessons too, if decided to move to Prague later on or vice versa). The main "restriction" for flying rests on weather, which can easily be forecast and planned for accordingly. The school also has bases in the USA (Miami and LA) and now in Austria. It also enables students to experience a totally different lifestyle! In my process to determine the ideal school for myself, this also attracted me towards Flying Academy as it offers broader opportunities than most other flying schools around! One major criteria when selecting a flying school is, of course, costs. It is not the cheapest of schools, but it is way cheaper than most for sure. And the money spent extra compared to the cheaper schools, is money well spent! I have just finished 0-CPL(A), including A-UPRT, and only have MEP left. Unfortunately I have to do MEP elsewhere for personal reasons but I do wish I could have finished it with FA! Teaching quality is superb, the material provided is more than sufficient also. The instructors are very well trained, they have a lot of flying experience and know how to pass their experience on to their students! Some honorable mentions of instructors include Danila Belitskiy, Sezer Bulut, Saud Obaray, Jan Oplatek, Abdollah Mohammadpour, Alex Zorkin and Kiril Titkov - All have helped me greatly in my training and taught me valuable lessons! Of course there are more, hard to name them all! To those who are looking where to start their career in aviation, I strongly recommend Flying Academy. It has everything you need, gives you the option to fly at different bases (even in the USA), very friendly and helpful staff, great location and very decent price! Sure there might be some things that can be improved, but the school is always trying to identify such things and work on them.

The Academy created a very relaxed atmosphere during the exam, they didn't put any extra stress on me. Everything went very smoothly. The ladies were very helpful on the days of the exam. I plan to take my next sitting here. (A pen and a bottle of water also helped to feel more comfortable during the exam and not to bother with such things.) Thank you for the nice time Flying Academy!
