I traveled from Jersey to Philly to pick up my dad from the airport, but I got a flat on I-95 around 6:30 PM. I contacted Flashers Roadside Assistance, paid a deposit, and a tech arrived quickly. He was friendly and worked hard, especially since my rim was bent from the blowout.
After nearly 5 hours and finding out my spare was also flat, he called for backup. That took another 2 hours, and only with highway patrol stepping in did we finally get a resolution. I was extremely grateful for the help — everything was going wrong.
However, my safety felt completely dismissed. I never asked for or expected a discount — I respect businesses. But after being told I’d get one for the long delay, I was suddenly asked for more money. When I questioned it, Mr. Stone said, “If you were a man, I would’ve left you on the side of the road,” and, “If you’re not paying more, I have nothing else to say.”
As a single mom who uses her vehicle to transport her kids daily, this was heartbreaking. I was stranded for over 6 hours, spent $275, and ended up feeling belittled and taken advantage of. Ladies, please be cautious and protect yourselves in situations like this. No one should be made to feel unsafe or disrespected when seeking help.
