Fjord Kayaking Hellesylt

29 May 2025. In the middle of a rainy week, we found a day full of sunshine and calm weather. We contacted Fjord Kayaking Hellesylt telephonically on the morning and got an instant feedback, that we could kayak at 11 am. RICHARD ensured our entire experience was memorable and very heartening. Especially for my daughter (9 yr old) and father (66 yr old), this was the first experience of kayaking and too, in a fjord setting. From sharing basics to entering the water, we never had any worries. The kayaks & safety eqpt were absolutely top notch. Richard shared several historic as well as regional titbits of information with us in the entire 2 hour tour. We would surely recommend to anyone thinking of kayaking in Hellesylt! Thanks again.

We did a kayak with Jacob he is really friendly and professional having a tour with him was amazing! We had a great tour with him showing and explaining to us every corner of the mountains and Fjord. The landscape is breathtaking and finished with passing next to the waterfall. Amazing experience and great crew

Went to Hellesylt on the Iona and wanted to do one of the kyacking tours, however P&O had sold out and I couldn't find anything else with spaces when looking online. As we left the ship we saw their little gazebo and managed to book onto a 1:30 session (the earlier ones were already fully booked, but this suited us anyway). Richard and Jakub were both very friendly and we had a good chat with both of them whilst paddling along. This was very suited to beginners, of which there were many in our group, but i would have liked to go out a little further personally. There was a sea sickness issue that held the group up slightly, but they handled this well and we were back moving again after a little break, we even managed to spot an eagle whilst waiting which is apparently pretty rare to see! Also get added into a WhatsApp group at the end for photos to be shared. Was a great value experience compared to the onboard prices and was a nice supprise to have spaces when everything I'd found online before our trip was already fully booked.

Excellent communication and friendly. We had concerns as some of us were new to open water swimming and we also wanted our 8year old to be in the same kayak. Richard was very helpful in addressing our concers and helped setup a 3seater. I was able to then book our online ahead of time. Jacob, our guide on the day knew the fjords well and filled us in with local trivia. Tip: we went out at 8:30am (least busy) and just had one other kayak in our group. It was like a private tour and we were able to go out further too.

Helge and Richard have been two amazing guides. It felt really safe to have them throughout the whole Kajak tour in the Norvegian fjord of Hellesylt!

We are very grateful to Richard and Jakub for a wonderful experience kayaking in Hellesylt. The guys are incredibly friendly, welcoming and professional. The kayaks are very stable and safety is paramount. Finally, and most of all, the scenery is simply breathtaking. All round a very enjoyable experience and highly recommended.
