How to Reset Your Garage Door Combination?
Resetting your garage door combination is essential for home security, especially after moving, sharing the code, or forgetting it.
First, identify your system type—most use a keyless keypad, while older doors may have mechanical locks. For keypads, press the opener’s Learn/Program button, enter a new 4–6 digit code within 30 seconds, and test it.
For mechanical locks, unlock the door, hold the reset lever, set a new combination, and secure it. Choose a strong, non-obvious code and update it every 6–12 months. Replace keypad batteries regularly, clean the buttons, and test the door to keep it working smoothly.
