We’ve had such a good experience with FirstLight Home Care while they’ve been caring for my dad. The caregivers have been dependable, kind, and very attentive to his needs. It’s comforting to see how patient and respectful they are with him, and how much effort they put into making sure he’s comfortable and safe. What I really appreciate is how easy they are to work with as a family. If we ever had questions or needed to make a change, the office staff was quick to respond and genuinely helpful. Having their support has taken a lot of stress off our shoulders during a difficult time, and I’m thankful we chose FirstLight Home Care for my dad’s care.

Working with FirstLight Home care I have learned that I cannot get the perfect client cause I have to be the perfect caregiver to all clients . My training at First Light has taught me that. Also teaching me that all clients are different but must be cared for with thee upmost respect. The Team at First Light home care is amazing getting every issue that I might have extinguish with achieving results. The only downfall that I have with the job is that I can’t get 10 of me cause I love this job so much. The pros are you won’t find a more excellent boss a leader who cares about her employees with a team that is very professional always making sure that there is no confusion with scheduling.

By far the absolute WORST and most UNRELIABLE caregiving agency on the Western Slope. We have had nothing but problems. We had 7 cancellations in the last 7 days. In 4 months, we had 10 different caregivers because they all keep quitting. They show up late and leave early all the time. I spoke to the owner, the branch manager, and the assistant manager. The owner wouldn't let me speak and talked over me the entire time. Then she hung up on me. What a horrible owner!! If you hate the person that you're hiring these caregivers to protect, then they will be perfect for you. I can't stress enough how bad this experience has been! This was for the care of a gentle elderly female veteran. She doesn't need anything but cooking, cleaning, and some help with a shower twice a week. She is sweet and polite. And she doesn't need Depends. This is a great gig for them. They are horrible. I was willing to keep trying to work with them but when the owner was such a terrible person, wouldn't even listen to me, and hung up on me... that's when they earned this review. PS: To reach them you have to go through an AI receptionist. It's a total nightmare. EDIT: The very response of the owner below makes my point. The owner would not listen to what I was saying in trying to be heard. At no point was there any yelling whatsoever. The fact that she hung up, doesn't defend the tremendous lack of quality and the lack of reliability makes my case. There are a variety of options for caregiving organizations. Look elsewhere.

When my mom began needing more help at home, I was overwhelmed, scared, and unsure of who to trust. She’s always been the strong one in our family , the caretaker, the listener, the heart of our home. I knew that if anyone else was going to step in and help care for her, it had to be someone truly special. FirstLight Home Care was exactly that and more. From the very first phone call, I felt heard. They took the time to understand not just what my mom needed, but who she was her personality, her routines, the little things that made her feel safe and at ease. Every caregiver who walked through our door treated her with so much kindness, patience, and respect. They didn’t just “do their job” they truly cared. They talked with her, listened to her stories, held her hand when she was having a rough day, and brought comfort into our home during a time that was anything but easy. They made her smile again. They gave me peace of mind, and for the first time in a long time, I could sleep at night knowing my mom was being looked after with the same love I would give her myself. The team at FirstLight became part of our family. I could call anytime with questions, concerns, or even just to check in and they were always there, kind and responsive. It never felt like a business transaction. It felt like a team of people who genuinely wanted to help, who genuinely loved what they do. My mom’s quality of life improved because of FirstLight, and so did mine. They allowed me to be a daughter again instead of a full-time caregiver. They gave us time together that wasn’t just focused on stress and tasks but on love, laughter, and presence. To the caregivers who cared for my mom thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are angels in scrubs. You gave my mom dignity. You gave our family peace. And you’ll always be a part of her story, and mine. If you’re looking for care for someone you love, please know this: FirstLight Home Care is the best decision we made. They were a blessing when we needed it most.

Both of my parents were in need of care in their home. The amount of stress that I was under to try to help my parents and make sure they were safe was dauting. I am the only family member my parents have to help them, and it is a lot for me to take care of alone. When I was referred to First Light I was told that Lori the owner would be reaching out, and she did immediately. The amount of care that Lori showed for my parents and even for me was astounding. Lori and her staff were amazing with my parents. They communicated to me weekly sometimes daily. They let me know if there was something I needed to be aware of, and they were always flexible. Lori was always checking on me because she knew how difficult this was for my parents and for myself. I would recommend First Light to anyone who needs that extra attention and strive for the best for their clients.

This company should be investigated on their procedures and conduct. They have repeatedly canceled appointments for patients in their care without warning or cause. They have been unprofessional over the phone stating they were not getting a caregiver that day because they were mad at the client. Some of the caregivers are not properly trained nor do they have the proper mental capacity to do the job thoroughly. If you are currently in their care document everything. Over the last couple years I've compiled a whole list of violations.

Lori Henderson (Owner) is an awesome human. The level of kindness and compassion she extends to clients is absolutely genuine and as the owner- quality, consistent care is her priority. What impresses me most isn’t her strong moral compass (although integrity in her position is important) but rather the emphasis she places on her employees. Lori cares about her staff and she goes out of her way to convey that. It’s truly a simple concept- take care of your employees and they will take care of the customers. Simple as it may be many employers don’t treat their employees as assets as we have seen with the “Great Resignation of 2022”. This is what separates FirstLight from the others. My family member receives excellent care and I highly recommend FirstLight!!
