When my mom began needing more help at home, I was overwhelmed, scared, and unsure of who to trust. She’s always been the strong one in our family , the caretaker, the listener, the heart of our home. I knew that if anyone else was going to step in and help care for her, it had to be someone truly special. FirstLight Home Care was exactly that and more. From the very first phone call, I felt heard. They took the time to understand not just what my mom needed, but who she was her personality, her routines, the little things that made her feel safe and at ease. Every caregiver who walked through our door treated her with so much kindness, patience, and respect. They didn’t just “do their job” they truly cared. They talked with her, listened to her stories, held her hand when she was having a rough day, and brought comfort into our home during a time that was anything but easy. They made her smile again. They gave me peace of mind, and for the first time in a long time, I could sleep at night knowing my mom was being looked after with the same love I would give her myself. The team at FirstLight became part of our family. I could call anytime with questions, concerns, or even just to check in and they were always there, kind and responsive. It never felt like a business transaction. It felt like a team of people who genuinely wanted to help, who genuinely loved what they do. My mom’s quality of life improved because of FirstLight, and so did mine. They allowed me to be a daughter again instead of a full-time caregiver. They gave us time together that wasn’t just focused on stress and tasks but on love, laughter, and presence. To the caregivers who cared for my mom thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are angels in scrubs. You gave my mom dignity. You gave our family peace. And you’ll always be a part of her story, and mine. Both of my parents were in need of care in their home. The amount of stress that I was under to try to help my parents and make sure they were safe was dauting. I am the only family member my parents have to help them, and it is a lot for me to take care of alone. When I was referred to First Light I was told that Lori the owner would be reaching out, and she did immediately. The amount of care that Lori showed for my parents and even for me was astounding. Lori and her staff were amazing with my parents. They communicated to me weekly sometimes daily. They let me know if there was something I needed to be aware of, and they were always flexible. Lori was always checking on me because she knew how difficult this was for my parents and for myself. I would recommend First Light to anyone who needs that extra attention and strive for the best for their clients.

This company should be investigated on their procedures and conduct. They have repeatedly canceled appointments for patients in their care without warning or cause. They have been unprofessional over the phone stating they were not getting a caregiver that day because they were mad at the client. Some of the caregivers are not properly trained nor do they have the proper mental capacity to do the job thoroughly. If you are currently in their care document everything. Over the last couple years I've compiled a whole list of violations.

Lori Henderson (Owner) is an awesome human. The level of kindness and compassion she extends to clients is absolutely genuine and as the owner- quality, consistent care is her priority. What impresses me most isn’t her strong moral compass (although integrity in her position is important) but rather the emphasis she places on her employees. Lori cares about her staff and she goes out of her way to convey that. It’s truly a simple concept- take care of your employees and they will take care of the customers. Simple as it may be many employers don’t treat their employees as assets as we have seen with the “Great Resignation of 2022”. This is what separates FirstLight from the others. My family member receives excellent care and I highly recommend FirstLight!!

Most of these caregivers are wonderful and amazing. However, if you can’t get ahold of the one person who runs everything, your issues cannot be addressed. They have a high turn over rate and getting regulars is difficult because the good ones leave. It is a very difficult company to be a client of, and from what I can tell, it’s very difficult to be an employee too. Maybe they are experiencing more than they can handle right now but none of the people but one can make changes and even making changes to my schedule with her has gone awry, and that could’ve been due to the caregiver but it seems like a mess. I love my caregiver now and haven’t quit them yet but it is increasingly hard dealing with them leading up to a major surgery and coming back has been rough. They promised me a regular when I returned (2 weeks out of state spinal cord surgery) and I came back to someone brand new. She is the only reason I didn’t fire them. But I’m here reviewing today because this keeps spiraling and they don’t answer the phone or call me back after getting hung up on yesterday. So if you’re considering them, maybe don’t.

I have had first light for about 9 months now. I have not a pleasant experience to say the least. I have welcomed in many caregivers due to the lack of consistency in caregiver. They change or cut my hours so many times it's uncountable. The office staff has shown very unprofessional behavior and lack the capability of communication. I have had countless times where no caregiver shows up and not even a phone call letting me know no one will be showing up. Finally, I have had a caregiver steal $3000 dollars from my daughter's room. I am very dependent on care and their lack of respect of consistency is atrocious.

First Light was recommended to me by some family friends, and they have been providing an outstanding level of care ever since I hired them. The caregivers do an excellent job, often going above and beyond to go the extra mile. Lori Henderson is amazing, and has catered to every need and request we have asked for. Thank you SO much First Light!

Lori and the caregivers at FirstLight Home Care of the Western Slope are reliable, caring, kind, and committed to helping families with any and all concerns. My mother recently needed 24 hour care after falling very ill and FirstLight seamlessly provided all the caregivers we needed, and oftentimes quite last minute. I live in California and Lori worked tirelessly to ensure my mother's safe well-being. She even drove to Aspen Valley Hospital on Christmas Day to pick her up! She coordinated, managed, and navigated some truly complex situations with a positive can-do attitude! I don't know what my sister and I would have done without her help. We are forever grateful!!

Not only are they inconsistent but none of their aides are certified or have proper education to be doing what they are. I've had to direct on sanitary procedures. How to change a brief. And have had multiple things stolen. When you report things stolen to the company they do absolutely nothing! If you call in and have questions you'll almost never get someone to pick up. They have horrible attitudes when someone does answer and usually they'll just tell you they can't help you. Ashamed they are open

We loved the care First Light provided for my mom. They always looked out for her, which was especially important because I lived out of state from my mother. They were my mother’s advocate on my behalf and I could feel at ease all the time. If my mother called with some issue, I could always reach my First Light caregiver for immediate assistance. I would recommend their care 100%.
