Family Home Care

I have been using this agency for the last 6 months approx. using them for 2-3 times a week and then just once a week for the last 3 months approx. The personnel who came to our home were a caring, professional group. The last 3 months was with the same person every visit once per week. She was probably the best caregiver for my wife & became a friend to our family. I would recommend this agency without reservation.

I would have loved to give my experience with Family Home Care 5 stars, because my helper Maria did a wonderful job. When I was told I would no longer have Maria but another care giver, I was not very happy and cancelled the service. Maria and I had a great relationship and I did not have to tell her what to do. I also felt comfortable with her helping me taking a shower, dressing me, making food for me and do light housework. I did not accept the fact that I had to do the same with a 21 years old young woman, I am 84 years old and telling this lovely young woman what to do and where everything is was more than I wanted to deal with. My suggestion to Family Home Care is: "Don't change care givers and 4 hours a day is too long."

I recall spending my father’s birthday in SLO this same time of year. We flew in from Texas and spoke with a few other agencies. From the get go, Family Home Care stood out as Jewels and her team were all kind, attentive, and very professional. It was with their help, that my dad and I had a safe and memorable vacation. They treated us like family. If we ever return we know who to call.

We had two of the best caregivers. They were very professional, caring and gentle with my Mom. I would highly recommend this Home care service.

My family and I are grateful for Family Home Care. In January, my 90-year-old mother fell and broke her sternum and incurred a large wound on her leg. Before the fall, she had been living fairly independently. The hospitalist recommended that my mom go to a nursing facility, but she is a private person and I felt she would recover better at home. We had used Family Home Care a few times prior to my mom’s accident, so I called to see if they could accommodate us with 24-hour caregivers on short notice. Family Home Care came through for us in a big way! We had wonderful caregivers who showed up on time and were very professional. Each time we had a new caregiver, one of the administrative staff: Paige, Diana, Jewels, Maria, or Rene, would come to introduce the caregiver and to make sure that they knew what Mom needed. Paige told me that if they didn’t have a caregiver for a certain shift, one of the staff would take the shift so that I never had to worry about my mom being alone. They were true to their word, and Maria and Paige both covered a shift when needed. My mom has made a complete recovery and is back to being able to spend some of her day independently. We very much appreciate Family Home Care for taking such wonderful care of her and allowing her to get well in the comfort of her own home!

I received excellent service from start to finish. This was for several weeks after coming home from having major back surgery. I especially appreciated that a member of their management team came with each caregiver the first time and informed them of the layout of my home, my health challenges, and other important information. They also created a small team of people who worked with me. We actually had a chance to get acquainted with one another. Best of all, I never "felt like a number" nor a commodity with management. Should I need caregiver assistance in the future I'll call FHC first!

Family Home Care has provided multiple services to aid my mother. Five years ago she needed three weeks of daily care after knee injury. The manager Jewels, was prompt in meeting the needs of care and specific requests that my mom wanted. The staff arrived on time, wore badges and were very helpful. Most recently, I needed assistance due my mother’s medical diagnosis of Dementia. Jewels and her team not only remembered my mom when I called, but were able to respond to an emergency and made themselves available to me 24/7. Jewels, Paige, Ryan and Maria along with the many caregivers have accomplished the goals I requested and were able to accommodate a schedule change. I am so thankful to have had their services and kindness!

Family Home Care has been a life saver for our family. My mom is able to be at home, instead of in long term care, and is thriving. All of the carers have been wonderful. They are thoughtful, hard-working, knowledgable, and professional. My mom has recieved the best care possilble. Management of Family Home Care has also been very professtional, accomidating, responsive, and caring. They have always been available, whenever I called and were so helpful with scheduling carers. They have kindly helped us negotiate billing and insurance problems which can be difficult to navigate. All in all, we are extremely happy with Family Home Care and would recommend them to anyone needing this type of service.

Client initially decided not to engage home healthcare assistance, even though he clearly needed it. Healthcare worker, on her own time, still stopped by about once a week just to make sure he was OK. Client eventually decided to hire the company to come in once per week. their first day on the job client did not answer the door and the welfare check was done. The client was found deceased inside his residence. The healthcare workers vary professionally handled the situation With law-enforcement and family members.

Wonderful first impression with this company. My mom and dad need help in Nipomo. I run a Care Company in another county, and was very focused on their intake process when Paige and Renee came out to talk with us. They were lovely, understanding and down to earth, and all of these qualities were so needed because my parents aren’t excited about having care. I’m confident the caregivers they send will be good matches. I can’t thank you enough! XO
