I was referred to the family center for a follow up visit after being released from Greenwich Hospital. I was also asked to follow up with a Neurologist based on the findings of a cat scan and an MRI I had at Greenwich Hospital. I did both. I also have been treated for kidney issues by a wonderful urologist in Greenwich. During my follow up visit, I sat in a room from 2:15 until 4:00. A nurse attended to me immediately, a student doctor saw me after 35 minutes of waiting and the DR I had an appointment with showed up 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment and spent 5 minutes with me. After another long wait the senior physician on staff returned with the DR and the student DR, told me that I didn’t need to follow up with the Neurology procedure the Neurologist had scheduled for me, because it was too expensive and I could not afford it, even though I have paid out of pocket for Medicare A & B. I was also advised to cancel my upcoming appointment with the Urologist who has treated my for the past 10 years and to take a chance on my health. When I asked who would prescribe my kidney medication, I was told they would. I left there feeling as if my dog is treated more humanely by his vet. I felt like a second class citizen who was less then human. Money over Health. I left there in tears and question why I was sent there in the first place.
