Did you know that English Ivy and other vines can kill your trees? It competes for nutrients and water, can block sunlight from reaching leaves and can add weight to an already stressed tree. To prevent these problems from occurring, cut the ivy around the base of the tree. The vines higher in the tree will die back and eventually fall out of the tree. You can prevent them from recurring by painting an herbicide around the lower trunk. ETS crew lead Charlie is seen here cutting vines for one of our clients.
