We went there straight after landing in Chiang mai. We were desperately craving Nepalese food and 8848 didn’t disappoint. The people were very kind. Food was delicious and fresh. Very affordable price. We enjoyed the meal. Definitely recommend 👍🏻

We had done a takeout from this place for lunch. There were not that many customers, maybe because it was lunch time on a weekday. One dish is more than sufficient for sharing with three persons. The quality of the food was good. The staff were very nice and polite. The perices are very resonable for the quantity of food you get.

I had never had Nepalese food before, so Everest 8848 was a really special find. I’ve already been here four times and I haven’t had a bad meal yet. Everything is made completely from scratch, so it does take a little longer, but it is absolutely worth the wait. The staff is amazing. I’ve really only interacted with one guy, who I think is the owner, and he is warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell there’s a lot of pride in the food and what they do here. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. They have outdoor and indoor seating.

Not a very nice atmosphere but has some authentic Nepalese vibes. Vegetarian steamed momos were great and the fried chick peas were full of flavor. The rice and lentils were like a stew (I expected dry from photo in menu) and wasn’t as tasty as the other dishes but filling and inexpensive. Worth a visit for sure

Really tasty Nepali food with good portions and great flavors. The staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. It felt like eating a home-cooked meal. A nice, relaxed place to enjoy proper Nepali dishes. Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for good Nepali food.🇳🇵

Nice little place and a great change from all the Indian restaurants that seem more or less the same after a while. Super friendly staff who came out and told us about Nepali culture and food. The food we had is great and I can't wait to go through the whole menu. We had the fried Chicken Mo Mo and 'Aloo Chana,' a Chick pea dish with flat bread. Two sections, one open air and one behind glass with air con give a choice of venue. Looks like there's quite a few vegetarian options.

This restaurant feels like you’re traveling somewhere between northern India and Nepal. The smoothies are absolutely amazing, and every other dish is equally delicious. The pani puri tastes exactly like a homemade version you’d get at home, and while the thukpa didn’t quite reach the level of that unforgettable taste I had in Dharamsala, it was still pretty good. The momos were incredibly delicious too. It seems to be mostly vegan-friendly(?) so I felt light and comfortable both while eating and afterward. Highly recommended!

While attending a climate change training program at Chiang Mai University, I found myself really craving authentic Nepali food. Since many places around here serve mainly seafood and other unfamiliar dishes, I was worried about finding something that reminded me of home. Thankfully, I discovered Everest 8848, run by the incredibly friendly brothers Akash and Suraj Dai. Their warm hospitality instantly made me feel at ease. The food was exactly what I needed — traditional Nepali flavors prepared with care and authenticity. The momos, lamb curry, and spani puri (simple potatos mashedupuri were delicious and comforting, just like homemade meals from Nepal. If you’re in Chiang Mai and missing real Nepali cuisine, this place is a must-visit. Akash and Suraj Dai truly bring a piece of Nepal to Thailand, making every guest feel like family.
