Long, but worth the read before visiting this provider. After 2 consultation visits I left today feeling like I just experienced a cash grab disguised as healthcare & wellness. Hopefully this review will help people make an informed decision if they are not coming in by way of workman's comp or personal injury/tort. I came in as private pay or possible insurance as a result of years worth of wear and tear on my body, most of which can be attributed to obesity & 20 yrs of work as a hairstylist.
I'm going to be brutally honest. During my first visit I initially felt that the Dr. was caring, and maybe he is, to a degree. However, midway through I began to get a vibe that this could possibly be a business and not a Dr's office, if you will. I noticed the Cartier, Rolex, and blacked out luxury vehicle. Props for doing well, but I began to get concerned with what I was noticing & the rate I saw people coming in and out.
The first day was a consultation, a questionnaire that was too long and possibly intrusive about lifestyle, goals, etc. (with the intent of other misc. sales, no doubt) and I was told I needed xrays. I was happy with that because I knew it may be dangerous to adjust me with my history without taking a deeper look. I was then told I would need to come back to go over the results before being adjusted so he'd have time to look them over.
So, when I came back we went over my results very thoroughly & everything was great till it came time to talk about insurance. He told me it wasn't active, which it will be in a few days. He then gave me the spiel of costs, deductibles, etc. and why cash pay was a better route.
This is where it turned for me, the age old assumptive close, great sales tactic. He said I could do 2 things. 1. I pay $737 (or so) for 3 months, or 2. nearly $1900 in one payment. There was no other option, that was it. I told him I would talk to my husband and he said he does the same with his wife, but then asked me which one my husband would go for if he were there... As soon as I didn't go for either of those options his demeanor changed. It went from over zealous to let's get you out of here. He then gave me the option for financing, I tried and was denied, even though my credit score is 700? THEN he tells me to go home & talk to my husband but not to take too long because he doesn't extend these offers usually past the initial day he offers it. Talk about awkward...
I could pay for it, but after this whole process I felt disgusted. Not to mention I totally wasted nearly an entire day with traveling back and forth, waiting, and being seen; Not even to get so much as a relief adjustment that I would have been happy to pay for. I'd also like to say that the reminders give a little bit of a desperate feel. In one day I received 2 texts, 1 email, and one phone call, that's excessive.
Now, don't get me wrong, I believe he is a capable chiropractor and I'm sure I would have seen results. However the delivery and intent was a hard pass for me. I've blocked the number, and email because I'm over it and I refuse to read any response to this, but I do hope it may help others know what to realistically expect.
