Hi everyone, Eric here. Living in Florida brings benefits, along with severe weather. With Hurricane Dorian approaching our beautiful coast line, I thought I would share some tips to prepare your home. Please remember to take recent photos of the interior and exterior of your home. This will come in handy should you need to file a claim with your homeowners insurance. Protect areas where wind can enter. Windows and doors should be secured with County-approved storm shutters. Another option is to board up windows with 5/8-inch plywood. Inspect the exterior of your home, seal any gaps around doors and windows with 100% waterproof caulking, be sure the product you choose meets or exceeds ASTM C834 specification. Protect electronics with storm surge protectors and waterproof coverings. Secure all lawn furniture or other outdoor items not tied down that could become airborne. We want everyone to stay safe!
