Epic Flight Academy

Very happy with my choice to enroll at Epic Flight Academy in Ocala! The atmosphere is not only professional, but welcoming and positive. Epic has an amazing fleet, structured courses, and even better instructors. Special thanks to my instructor David Sandoval who has made my experience at Epic successful as I have just completed my instrument checkride. He is very dedicated and committed to making sure you’re the best pilot you can be. I look forward to continue my training at Epic Flight Academy in Ocala!

My experience at Epic Flight Academy has been outstanding, especially thanks to my instructor, Brad Moody. As a Latino student whose first language is not English, I was initially nervous about starting flight training. However, Brad has made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. He is patient, clear, and truly dedicated to his students. Brad is always available to answer questions, no matter the time, and he consistently makes sure I understand every step before moving on. His professionalism, knowledge, and ability to teach with calm and confidence make him, without a doubt, the best instructor I could have asked for. I am extremely grateful for the progress I’ve made and the support Brad has given me. I highly recommend Epic Flight Academy and especially Brad Moody to anyone serious about becoming a pilot.

My training at epic has been amazing and I’m super lucky to have Brad as my instructor. He explains things in a way that makes sense, and never makes me feel rushed or stressed in the cockpit. Every lesson is organized, tailored to the way I learn, and focused on helping me really understand what I’m doing. He’s great at balancing encouragement with honest feedback, and I’ve gained more confidence because of his teaching.

Epic Flight Academy has been nothing short of excellent. The Instructors are very knowledgeable and friendly. The equipment/aircraft are very high end, and well maintained.

Training and growing with Epic Flight Academy There is so much that I could say , but I’ll try and keep it short , the experience was amazing. Truly professional, the planes were top notch , and not only coming from me , but from other students that started their training elsewhere and finished with Epic. I’ve been training at the Ocala airport With Epic for 2 1/2 years ( I was a part time student) and I’ve had the pleasure to meet numerous students and Teachers. All make you feel like part of the family. I truly don’t have any Complaints. Thank you personally Tyler , Nick , and Rafael for supporting and getting me thru every step of the way , all the way to my commercial license. And thank you everyone, the students and teachers at Ocala for having my back and guiding me with your knowledge and wisdom when I felt I was lacking. Thank you Epic Flight Academy.

Excellent flight school. Top of the line equipment, maintenance, and the instructors are knowledgeable and dedicated to student success. I earned my flight instructor certificate here, and the training was outstanding. They’re also very flexible with schedules, which made balancing everything easier. If you’re serious about becoming a professional pilot, I highly recommend Epic!

Epic @ Ocala has taught me more than how to fly. They teach me why I need to follow certain procedures and the nuances and technicalities of the aircraft. Learning the why in addition to the how allows me to be more immersed and interested in the learning process in addition to flying. The ground school portion is plentiful with resources like orals, online content, videos, and simulator trng. Highly recommend to those "avgeeks" that want to not just learn how to fly, but learn the "why". So far in my PPL journey I am having no complaints with any aspects of the process. It feels like a family with the other student pilots and instructors beside me every step of the way. Back seating flights/orals and creating study groups/friends is encouraged. Lastly shoutout to my CFI Brad for being involved and dedicated to ensuring my success. As long as you do your homework and are committed you will be quite surprised how much you learn in little time.

Great flight school. Started instrument training here and plan on continuing through CFII. High emphasis on safety and preparing competent pilots. Great maintenance team and the aircraft are new and equipped with G1000 suite. 10/10 would fly here again.

Epic flight academy is definitely the most professional and well maintained flight schools I’ve ever been a part of. They have a very knowledgeable group of instructors that are always willing to teach and do the best for their students. I would definitely recommend if anyone is looking to start flight training!

Epic Ocala has several strengths. The location is perfect for new students, as there is a relatively strait forward home base airport that is easy to learn fundamentals at, as well as a large local practice area perfect for learning and mastering flight skills. Epic staff are also very highly qualified, friendly and professional. The community here is also a bit closer than what you'd find elsewhere. Both students and instructors both are usually well acquainted and makes for a really great learning environment. The prices are high, yes, but you get every bit in quality what you pay for.
