Aircraft mechanic instructor Norbert Garland turned a project for his metal structures class into a competition. It's the second project for this class. The students construct a wing section in accordance with the blueprint and instructions provided. They learned how to calculate the required spacing to cut and bend the metal. Then they riveted the components together with a rivet gun and a bucking bar. Norbert gave ribbons to the top performers in his class. After completion of the course, students will continue to use these wing sections for future projects.
