Got up close with the GoPro and found the culprit — a failed main drain gasket. When I shot dye under one of the screws on the faceplate, it got sucked right in. This is a pretty common leak, but for this homeowner it was costing them anywhere from half an inch to an inch of water every day. We sealed it up and stopped the water loss for good.
