I called them for a chimney sweep before the cold season. I am so happy I did because I didn’t even know about the troubles that I was about to have . Honestly i was a little hesitant to even let them up in my roof , just wanted my chimney cleaned. But they looked so professional, uniforms , the work van etc . He was quick, neat and best price, so i recommended him to my in-laws for their rusty and leaky old chiskover, as shown in the pic’s. Chiskovers are tricky . There are 2 ways of knowing you have a problem , you either have someone look at it or you get a leak . Well I’m glad i had Nani and his team look at it because you can see what they found. Nani fast tracked the part order and completed the job the very next day. I don’t know what he charged them but from the looks on their face must have been a reasonable amount. Needed my chimney looked after as I was smelling things, even though everything looked good as I usually am on top of everything when it comes to the maintenance of my house . The did some research on what the potential issue could be , as I usually try to be a DIY guy but I did not like what I saw . A neighbor recommended Elite Chimney , apparently he had the chase cover done as he was getting rain from the chimney. The man showed up, very professional and with a big smile , and in a matter of minutes was able to identify the first issue . We ran a test and sure enough he found more cracks in my fireplace . He recommended that 2 layers of smoketite around the interior walls of the chimney were necessary in order to make a perfect seal. We scheduled the job , and he was able to accommodate my urgency, since we have at least 1 more month of winter and CO is not a joke. So that’s when I decided to have him install a liner in my chimney as well, in order to vent my boiler and HWH properly . The draft improved dramatically according to the match test . I am happy that I left this to professionals. That’s all I’m going to say about this .
