This week, we were pleased to share some great news with our friends at the Student Support Network, a non-profit organization helping Baltimore County students struggling with the effects of poverty and homelessness by donating food, clothing and personal care items to 6 area schools.
It was our privilege to sponsor Student Support Network in applying for and obtaining a $1,000 grant from the Matthews Children’s Foundation, established by our memorial supplier, Matthews International Corporation. The grant, earmarked for the Network's biannual school supplies drive, covers the cost of approximately 500 school supply bags for area schools.
Of the 6 local schools included in the Network, 2,640 students live in severe poverty, 1,106 depend on nutrition assistance, and 297 are identified as homeless.
Thank you to the Student Support Network for the great work they do for our community.
