π If you have questions about nose vs mouth breathing, here's what Dr. Tayara has to say: "Mouth breathing can lead to oxygen deprivation during sleep, tends to cause poor tongue posture, and can disrupt a child's bite & development of the jaws...if mouth breathing, see a pediatric ENT to check if thereβs upper airway obstruction (allergies / large adenoids, etc.) If the ENT exam is clear, we usually advise the use of tape to help exclusive nose breathing. There are also trainers (like retainers) we can recommend that help with sleep."
