Patient: Emily (pseudonym), Female, 52, Teacher
Chief Complaint: Limb numbness, weakness, and pain for 2 months post-chemotherapy.
Present Illness: Stage II breast cancer, chemotherapy since Nov 2024. Symptoms worsened after the third cycle, affecting daily life.
TCM Diagnosis: Qi & blood deficiency causing meridian stasis ("Bi Syndrome").
Treatment:
Herbs (Modified Buyang Huanwu Decoction): Astragalus, Angelica, Red Peony, Chuanxiong, Peach Kernel, Safflower, Earthworm, Cinnamon Twig, Spatholobus, Achyranthes Root, Licorice. Decoction, warm, twice daily.
Acupuncture: LI4, LI11, PC6, LI10, ST36, GB34, SP6, LR3, GV20, CV4, BL23. 20-30 min, 3x/week.
Lifestyle: Eat Qi- and blood-tonifying foods, avoid cold/greasy foods, exercise, stay warm, maintain a positive mindset.
Outcome (4-6 Weeks): Symptoms relieved, daily function restored, mood improved.
