Down The Hatch French quarter

A newish French Quarter bar, l don’t think it has had time to establish a reputation. Down The Hatch has taken over the address that was previously Clair’s Pour House, which permanently closed months ago. Drinks are reasonable and the staff is friendly. Worth a drink to see what you think, just don’t confuse with previous business.

A really nice little Bar restaurant. The food was good. The staff was very friendly. Overall a very good place to sit down and enjoy just off of bourbon street craziness

My partner and I stopped in after walking around the French Quarter for several hours. The bartender was super friendly and attentive. He mentioned this was a newer location that was still getting its footing in the area, but we were super happy with the food and the great conversation. The down the hatch burger was incredible, and the fried catfish was deliciously flaky. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Absolutely never returning here. We arrived at 1 AM on 10-4-2024 paid to park at the meter. The place was mostly empty. The bartender saw my wife and I walk in and sit down. We never greeted and waited 10 minutes for her to clean tables directly across from us and not ask if we wanted to order. Another couple comes in walks to the bar and immediately helps them. The guy who also worked there saw us sitting and he never asked so after 20 minutes of waiting I ask him how do you get service here and he rudely replies you order at the bar. This said have been told to us in the beginning. When went to the bar the bartender tells us the kitchen is closing like we haven't waited 20 minutes already. We ordered the shrimp po boy and the shrimp was not cleaned at all still had shrimp feces in it. The patty melt was okay ,fries were so so and just not worth the time and bad service we received. May have been somewhat okay with things if the food was good. It mediocre at best!

This place is 100% different from the original. It is very obviously not ran the same way. If the bartender wasn't so busy trying to hit on women then perhaps my order would not have taken over an hour when there was only one other food customer. Very disappointing

New place, only opened a month or so. Cute little bar, bartender was fantastic. Standard pub food that was quite tasty.

extremely chill place away from frenchmen st to hang out with your friends and have a drink! will the bartender is very nice, had a great time

Would go here every day to chill out. Friendly staff, decent bar food, and cool patrons.
