Magically receive my Homestead exemption paperwork one and a half years after closing. This was my first time buying a home, and I was not told anything at any time at all about a Homestead, nor did i fill any homestead paperwork out. The mail showed up to my house with the documents dated with the date i closed, but the MAIL was dated/sent a day before i received it, A YEAR LATER. Nice try. Due to this, I acquired an additional 700 dollar increase on my mortgage for an entire year. This could have resulted in foreclosure for many people. The entire process was rushy, bitchy, and thrown together. Perhaps a little bit more attention to detail, opposed to interior design, would go a lot further. Tell your realtor to use someone else. Nice snacks on the table though…
