So glad we found DNA K9 for our sweet boy, George! George is a 1-year old lab rescue, he’s so sweet but very excitable and has some anxiety. Car rides and walks were a real struggle, and even getting him to come inside for us was not easy. Then we found Doug! Doug took time to talk with us about the challenges we had with George and to understand where we needed help. During the board and train, Doug was able to work with George to become more calm and confident. By the end of the training, he had him responding to commands and walking off-leash. Now that George is back home, we are amazed by how well he responds to commands and we actually get to enjoy walks with him instead of struggling to restrain him when he gets excited. The best part is that we got updates along the way with videos of George’s progress. It was obvious that Doug cared about our George and that they had developed a bond. He also checked in on him even after he was home! Highly recommend Doug and DNA K9 training!

Had an AMAZING experience working with DNA K9! I have an Aussie/border collie and is doing amazing! I did the 2 week board and train and had amazing results. Douglas is very nice, and has good communion! You also get daily videos of your puppy/dog!

Doug was amazing with helping us with our Frenchies fear and reactivity. My husband and I contacted Doug because we were unable to do anything including walks without having anxiety of the reactivity that would come with it. Our dog would bark and lunge at every person, dog, or thing that we came across while out and about. We opted to do the private lessons with Doug and not only did it teach our dog, but it helped teach us how we can help our dog have a better life. After doing consistent lessons, we are now able to take our frenchie on walks, trips, and allow her to have more freedom on and off leash than we ever could. E collar training has significantly changed ours and our dogs life for the better. We would recommend them to anyone who is having trouble and is on the fence about it. It was the best decision we ever made and Doug was such a huge help with all of it and continues to help if needed. We are so thankful.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review for DNA K9 If dogs could write Yelp reviews, Daisy (my mischievous little Shihpoo) would be pawing at the keyboard right now to gush about Doug and Tracy. Before training, Daisy had perfected the art of “selective hearing” when her mom called. But after just one week with Tracy, she’s now a pro at come, sit, paw, and even place (which basically means she’s ready to audition for Cirque du Soleil with her stepping-up skills). Tracy is truly the dog-whisperer—patient, skilled, and clearly dedicated to every pup that walks through the door. And Doug? Let’s just say Daisy may have developed a tiny crush. She perks up whenever he’s around, and I’m starting to think she listens better to him than to me! What makes DNA K9 special is that they treat every dog like their own. You can feel the love and commitment in everything they do. I cannot recommend Tracy (the training mastermind) and Doug (the doggie heartthrob) enough. Daisy and I are both grateful—and maybe just a little smitten. 🐾

Doug has been exactly what my 7lb pup needed. In the beginning BooBoo was VERY aggressive and anxious about everything and everybody. Not any more! Doug came to the house once a week from Cheviot to New Richmond and it has been an amazing change in my pup. We are very happy with the outcome. Nice guy and easy to work with.

I’ve gone through 3 different dog trainers over the years, and DNA K9 is the only trainer I will use. I started with them, after inheriting an aged, cattle dog from a dying family member. AFTER I agreed to take her, I found out she was a biter. She bit at least 5 people in the first few days I had her. With the help of Doug, Addie and I got past those issues and, amazingly (to me, not Doug), I had control of her. Now Addie is gone and I’ve rescued an adorable puppy from Amish country. Totally different dog, totally different issues…and again I’m learning I’m the boss, not the adorable Finch. Doug is available for any questions, and responds quickly. I also like that there is a demo by Doug, where the Doug gets the idea of what to do…then the leash is mine. Doug provides tips at that time, then I get to practice for a week before the next class.

We couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible experience we had with Doug at DNA-K9! He worked with our 6-month-old Great Dane, Tilly, during an 8-day Board and Train, and the results were beyond what we could have hoped for. Doug sent us daily video updates, and each one was not only reassuring but also heartwarming as you could see the progress Tilly was making and, just as importantly, the genuine care and passion Doug has for what he does. It truly felt like he treated Tilly as if she were his own dog. He was always quick to respond to any questions we had and took the time to thoroughly walk us through everything when we got her back. The transition home was smooth, thanks to all of the tools and knowledge he shared with us. Doug is professional, passionate, and incredibly skilled. I could write a book about all the reasons Doug with DNA K9 is the BEST, but i will try to make it short. We reached out to Doug when we wanted our rescue dog, Pickles, assessed after an incident. We did a ton of research because we wanted to give Pickles the best chance at a good life. and boy howdy...did we pick the right trainers!!! Pickles was boarded with DNA K9 for two weeks. Doug and Tracy trained Pickles to be the best mannered baby boy. They treated him so well and you could tell they respected him and loved him like their own. You can tell that they LOVE the dogs and want more than anything to give them the tools to a good life. When Doug turns your dog back over to you, he also stays with you for a bit and trains you to help you keep your dog trained. He instills the confidence in YOU that is necessary to train, command, protect, and love your dog. 💜 I would never pick any one else to train. Thanks so much!!

I can’t say enough amazing things about Doug from DNA K9!! First of all, you can tell how much passion he has for training and caring for dogs, he made my pup Mr. Sauce feel so comfortable and special. Doug put my mind at ease with the e-color and I can confidently say my relationship with my dog is better now that I have the tools that Doug provided us. He is patient and answered all of the questions I had as well as tailoring the training to my dogs needs and skill-set. I highly recommend DNA K9 to anyone who needs a dog trainer!

Our experience could not have been better. Doug picked up a reactive, dependent, low- confidence dog and 8 days later returned a happy, confident pup who is eager to please. We received daily updates and were well communicated with every step of the way. Doug continues to check in post-training and even came back to our home when we struggled to integrate our dog’s commands into life with 2 pups. Previously, we used another board and train program for our other dog and DNA K9 is hands down our choice for training. We can’t recommend DNA K9 enough and won’t use any other training program (should we be crazy enough to get another dog!)
