The owner of a 2018 Range Rover HSE with 32,589 miles on the clock was hit by an at fault driver. The at fault insurance company paid $15,287.00 to repair the vehicle. Of course the at fault insurance company did not mention a diminished value settlement. The Land Rover dealer explained to the owner that his SUV was now worth considerably less due to a negative Carfax; the dealership referred him to DVAC. After DVAC prepared a licensed DOV Report, the responsible insurance carrier offered him $2500.00. He declined the offer. After DVAC discussed our position with the at fault insurance company’s appraiser they agreed to pay him $7500.00. Make sure that you check with with a licensed Diminished Value appraiser before accepting any DOV settlement from an insurance carrier!
