A customer with a New 2020 Jeep Wrangler with only 4827 miles on the clock was hit by an at fault insured driver. The collision restoration was performed in a satisfactory manner and the at fault insurance company paid the $7648 as appropriate.
Unfortunately it was a much different story when she asked to be compensated for the Diminishment of Value due to a negative CARFAX history. As is often typical the at fault insurance company’s adjuster only offered her $500 to settle the DOV Claim.
At this juncture DVAC was hired and we submitted our DOV Report to the adjuster who subsequently hired an independent appraiser to negotiate with us under the appraisal clause. Post haste their appraiser and DVAC agreed that the correct DOV was $5500.00. DVAC’s client received an additional $5000.00. It pays to hire a licensed DOV Appraiser!
