Designer Pools By Ace

We had high hopes when we hired Designer Pools by Ace to build a lakefront pool for our rental property in Denver, NC. We signed our contract in January 2025 with the expectation that the project would be completed in time for the summer season. Unfortunately, the timeline ended up being much longer than anticipated, and the project was nearing completion in December. While there were positive moments early on, we encountered several challenges along the way. Communication became inconsistent after our original sales representative left the company, and updates on delays were limited. We also experienced issues with jobsite cleanliness and debris removal, which required us to arrange a dumpster ourselves. This has been a stressful and costly experience, and we were disappointed to miss an entire rental season. That said, we recognize that construction projects can be complex and subject to delays. If you’re considering them for your pool project, we recommend asking detailed questions about timelines, communication, and jobsite management upfront to ensure expectations are clearly aligned. Once the owner got involved, our job received the necessary attention to finish the project properly. We are pleased with the final product.

Matt and his team were great to work with! From the outset of our initial meeting, Matt made us very comfortable with our custom Gunite pool project, and we felt reassured at each step of the process knowing that we had partnered with a competent and experienced team who knows what they are doing when it comes to building new pools. Our project was in Davidson County (about an hour North of Charlotte). Any concerns that I had with potential delays due to crews traveling to my location, was eliminated because the crews all worked in cadence with one another. From excavation, to rebar, shotcrete, coping, finish grading, pool deck, plaster and trims, each crew was experienced and showed up in force. Our project took 4 months to complete, which was to be expected, and we were impressed at the time that was made up due to the rainy weather we experienced this spring and summer. Any questions I had were promptly answered in a professional and educational manner. Inspections were seamless, and Matt has another satisfied customer who would happily recommend his company to anyone interested in embarking on a new custom pool project.

Great pool company! Easy to deal with, always got back to us quickly with answers. Pool looks great! We had a little issue where the liner came off in the corner but they came out almost immediately and fixed it which is almost unheard of with other companies. Highly recommend them!

Highly recommend this company for any of your custom outdoor/patio needs. Very timely to get things done and always kept good communication with me during install of our pool and outdoor kitchen. Also very friendly and easy to work with even if changing your mind after design was already made like we did. Priced very reasonably for the quality of work these guys do. I would recommend anyone to give this company a shot you definitely will not regret it.

Our pool is gorgeous. And working with Designer Pools by Ace's team was easy and enjoyable until the end. We had and still have a low voltage electric shock in the pool. The inspector said he would go ahead and pass everything since he felt sure our pool builder would correct it. We should said thanks but, no thanks to him as here we are 9 months later having to hire someone to take up our concrete, re-bond everything and pour new. The Designer team or their election couldn't figure out what was wrong and turned in to not their problem since, "well, it passed inspection". Don't let the inspector do you any favors and don't make that final payment until everything is perfect.
