You have about one hour to save a knocked-out tooth.
A tooth knocked out in Aventura isn't always lost, but the clock starts the second it leaves the socket. Pick it up by the crown, never the root, and rinse it gently if it's dirty. Don't scrub it, don't wrap it in a tissue, and don't let it dry out — the living cells on the root are what give it a chance to reattach. If you can, slip it straight back into the socket and bite down softly on a clean cloth. If that's not possible, tuck it inside your cheek or drop it in a cup of milk and head our way right away.
Most people freeze up in that moment, which is exactly why a same-day emergency visit matters so much. The sooner we examine the tooth and the socket, the better the odds we can splint it back into place and spare you an implant or bridge down the road. We hold emergency slots open every weekday at our Aventura office, and your first X-ray and exam are free. Don't wait to see if the pain settles on its own — grab the tooth and come in.
