Broken crown or lost filling
A crown that pops off mid-dinner doesn't have to ruin your week.
It happens more than you'd think — you bite into something, feel that strange crunch, and suddenly a crown or filling is loose in your mouth. It's not glamorous, but the good news is it's very fixable and usually fast. First, save the piece if you can find it, since sometimes we can re-cement the original crown. Avoid chewing on that side, skip anything sticky or crunchy, and keep the exposed tooth clean. That tooth underneath is vulnerable now, so the sooner it's protected, the less likely you'll end up with sensitivity, decay, or a fracture.
Don't try to glue it back yourself with household adhesive — that traps bacteria and makes the eventual fix harder. We see broken crowns, chipped teeth, and lost fillings the same day at our Aventura clinic, starting with a free X-ray and office visit so we know exactly what we're working with. Walk-ins are welcome, and we'll get you back to eating, smiling, and talking normally without the worry.
