Legislation came into effect on September 1, 2023, that all rental properties in Queensland needed to comply with minimum housing standards.
Rental properties coming to market for new tenants must be inspected by an independent inspector to ensure it is compliant with the checklist stated by the Queensland Government.
One of the points in the checklist, is the property must be free from pests. Therefore, the owner or property manager is responsible for the property having regular pest control.
