π§π‘ Deck Lighting Upgrade in Kirkland, WA β Smart LED System Installed by MoDecks
At MoDecks, weβre always happy to help clients personalize their outdoor living spaces. On this Kirkland project, the customer decided to replace solar step lights with a more reliable, hardwired LED lighting system for their new deck and stairs.
We installed energy-efficient LED lights along the steps and added a smart dusk-to-dawn sensor, allowing the lights to automatically turn off during the day and gently illuminate the stairs throughout the night. This added both style and safety to their outdoor space.
However, we ran into a fun surprise! The customer already had a separate motion sensor near the garage that sometimes shines directly onto the deck area. That light was tricking our photo sensor into thinking it was daytime β causing the step lights to shut off too early.
