New Composite Deck Project Starting Soon – Lynnwood, WA 🌲
We’re getting ready to kick off a brand-new deck remodeling project in beautiful Lynnwood! The current deck structure has served its time, and now it’s time for a safe, strong, and stylish transformation.
🔧 Framing Comes First:
Before we install any composite decking, we're reinforcing the frame. The existing joist spacing is 24 inches on center, which does not meet Washington State code for composite decking (which requires maximum 16" OC, or ideally 12" for diagonal or heavy boards).
✅ Our Plan:
Carefully remove the old deck boards
Inspect all existing joists
Replace damaged joists and add new ones to reduce spacing to 12 inches on center for maximum support
Bring the entire frame up to code and ensure it’s safe for composite installation
Install brand new, durable composite decking boards with a clean, modern look
Optional: railing adjustments, fascia, and new steps if needed
💡 Why It Matters:
Composite decking is heavier and more flexible than wood. Without proper joist spacing, the boards can sag, shift, or even crack over time. That’s why reinforcing the frame is essential — and it’s exactly what we’re doing here.
This upgraded deck will not only look amazing, but will also be structurally sound, safe, and built to last for years to come.
