Cedar Soffit with LED Lighting | Kirkland, WA
The space under your deck doesn’t have to be forgotten. When finished right, it becomes one of the most beautiful and functional parts of your outdoor design.
In this project, we installed a clear cedar soffit ceiling with recessed LED lighting beneath the deck structure. This detail completely transformed the lower side — turning what’s usually an exposed frame into a warm, finished architectural surface.
Each cedar board was hand-sanded and sealed with a high-grade exterior oil for UV and moisture protection, ensuring long-lasting beauty in the Pacific Northwest climate. The natural tone of the wood pairs perfectly with the matte black trim, creating a clean, modern contrast that feels both cozy and upscale.
The integrated LED lighting system adds gentle evening illumination, highlighting the wood grain and bringing depth to the outdoor space. It’s functional, elegant, and designed to make the deck look just as impressive from below as it does from above.
Beyond aesthetics, the soffit protects the framing from weather, keeps insects out, and provides natural ventilation to prevent moisture buildup.
