Rusty nail tips in the attic are indicating that there has been over humidification occurring in the attic. The cause is either deficient ventilation or the humidistat being set to high. Continued elevated humidity in the attic increases the risk of mold developing on the roof decking. Check in your attic at the coldest season for moisture or ice on your nail tips.
