Dave's Towing

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS TOWING COMPANY. READ RECENT REVIEWS. I was about an hour south of Sioux City with an issue involving two tires on my trailer. I went on Google Maps and selected Dave’s Towing, thinking that as a small business, they would appreciate the work. This turned out to be the worst mistake I could have made. When they arrived close to 3 hours later, they installed one tire so I could slowly drive the trailer back to their yard in Sioux City. Once there, they placed the trailer in what appeared to be their impound lot and locked the gate. I was very clear that I was in a rush to get it fixed, as I had a 10-hour drive home the next day. They indicated it should be ready by 10 a.m., though it might take an hour or two longer. They needed additional parts and another tire, and said they would contact me in the morning with pricing for the parts. The next morning, I sent a text and called multiple times over several hours with no response. I drove to the yard to check in person, but there was no-one to be found. Finally, a few hours after my initial attempts, a woman answered the phone and said she would have them call me back. Approximately 15 minutes passed with no call, so I phoned again and stated that I was very concerned and was getting close to contacting the police. A few minutes later, I received a call back from them. The first thing he said after “Hello” was to yell curse words!” and launched into a screaming swearing rampage. My wife, who was beside me, literally started crying when she heard it. All I had said was that I was very concerned due to the complete lack of updates. I told him I would get the tire fixed somewhere else which was just answered with more swearing. I then went to Fremont Tire to see if they could assist. They were extremely helpful—a complete day-and-night difference compared to Dave’s. (I would highly recommend them😊) They agreed to send a mechanic to Dave’s yard to change one of the tires so we could drive the trailer back to their shop for repairs. I waited for their mechanic to arrive before returning to Dave’s yard myself (My wife and I would have been scared for our life going back to Dave’s alone). He stated the total was around $960.00 and that he would accept only cash. I explained that I only had a company credit card and did not have a personal card, and asked if any other form of payment would work. He replied that it was not his problem and that there were banks and ATMs everywhere. Banks were not an option, as we had a Canadian bank account, which I also told him. I went to the ATM and was only able to withdraw $600.00. I returned, explained the situation, and asked if he would accept another form of payment for the remainder. He responded with, “Not my (curse word) problem. I like cash.” We had to use almost all of my wife’s personal cash to reach the $960.00 total. When I returned with the cash, I was called a (curse word) liar for not initially bringing the full amount.” He was genuinely the rudest individual I have ever met. Not once did I shout nor did I use a single curse word toward him, yet they were directed and literally screamed at me almost every time he spoke. Nothing I have written here contains any intentional mistrust's. I wanted to not write a review and just forget the whole experience, but to warn other people of Dave’s I decided to write this. If it rescues just one person from the horrible horrible experience I had, it was well worth my time.

Very quick response, super nice, and very reasonable price. Wish all towing companies operated as this towing company does. They were very considerate of others as well. I had flat tire in a very crowded parking lot at a hotel. He moved the tow truck several times so people could easily get out of the parking lot so their day would not be inconvenienced. Obviously good ole’ Midwest nice!!!

If I could give a zero or less I would. Said they would be there in 1 1/2 hrs. Called and texted them after 2 1/2 and straight to voice mail. Called someone else that came in 30 minutes. By the way Dave’s never showed up at all. Horrible experience.

Sooooo unreliable. Left us & our littles on the side of the road. Highly recommend if you want a no-show.

Extremely unprofessional, uncaring, and rude individual. Was constantly screaming curse words at me and refused to accept anything other than cash. Will be reporting to the better business bureau.

Very happy. Called Dave’s Towing to come and take the car. In less 1/2 hour they were here. Did the paperwork was easy. They towed it to Sioux City Ford. About 15 miles from home. I’ve used Dave’s Towing before and they have great reliable service.

Very rude and dishonest people, the guy tried to charge me more than we agreed and when i said no he tried to take my vehicle with his towing truck. I had to call police.

This is by far the best towing service I have ever used! PERIOD! If you want the fastest honest towing service in the Midwest you have found it! Dave is a GREAT GUY!!!

The owner is super nice and easy to work with.

My car wouldn’t start during the crazy winter weather we got and I needed to get it to a shop as it was more than just a battery issue. I called Dave’s Towing and I was immediately treated with kindness and respect during my panic of not having a working vehicle to get to work so early in the morning. Despite being so busy helping others in the community during the blizzard, he got to me as quickly as he could and I was treated with the same respect and kindness in person. The cost of service was very affordable. I will definitely be calling again for any needs in the future.
